  1. The pins I sent Kevin are slightly different shape from the ones I previously had. From head on, they look slightly less substantial and you'd think they would have less force on the pins. However, I have a feeling this is aesthetic only, as I cannot tell the difference in a controlled double-blind test I told Kevin I'd be glad to source these for everyone. I have a family member that can pick them up and mail them to me at a pretty reasonable cost, if I'm not able to supply them from my current stash. I can also get a quote on the 9-pin sockets, and 8-pin sockets.
  2. Ok, here's where I am at. Three types of input, transformer coupled coaxial, optical, and TTL. After this input, there is DC blocking cap for the TTL case and then this is fed into a buffer that can be configured to have gain. This performs the optional level shifting from TTL. Then into parallel buffers that drive the output. There is also another DC blocking cap after, that might be used depending on the final configuration. The output can be taken as TTL, transformer coupled coax, or optical. A voltage divider plus series resistor allows for proper termination into a BNC connector. So, in my case I'll use TTL -> TTL. But this could be used for a coax -> optical, optical -> coax, ttl -> coax, ttl -> optical, etc. Perhaps now there might be a bit more discussion?
  3. I used to be within walking distance of that place Cool place.
  4. The wheels are in motion
  5. Does anyone know how people usually handle the clock IN/OUT signal that's available on the rear panel of various DACs? I'm curious about how to terminate both ends. I was thinking of treating it just like SPDIF.
  6. is this g code? or is there a special way to do step and repeat?
  7. looks very nice! Will you cut them apart after the fact and program an array?
  8. How well did this approach work for Sennheiser and the HD800?

    Canjam 2010.

That would be fine by me

    Canjam 2010.

I'll be attending sans family at this point. So, I'll be looking to grab a room as well, so I'd like to see what you guys figure out.
  11. I have a few supposedly coming my way. I can see if I can get some more, if I can find time to call my local sales rep.
  12. I use a Panavise Jr for exactly that. Even attaching 24ga wire to Molex KK terminals for example.
  13. Damn, I totally had that idea. I bet I know exactly how they are controlling all those LEDs too.
  14. yeah, this would work though: http://web.archive.org/web/20080105084047/http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/675949-meter-digital-display-volt-refl-mdmv0000.html anyways, I was too annoyed to bother I guess. I'll post it at DiyA so someone else can hassle them
  15. Parts from Digikey and Mouser for a Pete Millet project Soundcard Interface Now, Digikey pulled a really douchy move and upped the price on Digikey part RLC000-ND by $20 after people started buying these. Pretty lame, and I tried to call them on it, and they said they won't honor the previous price unless I had a copy of the webpage with the previous price.
  16. Linear Integrated Systems - Press Release http://www.linearsystems.com/datasheets/LSK389.pdf If you'd like me to try one, I could send one out your way.
  17. JH13s? maybe they can do just one for half the cost?
  18. yeah, that's the only option on the Samsung, so perhaps it's a blessing after all.
  19. my complaints are no subtitle options and 2 channel audio. Also, having to add titles to your "Instant Queue" rather than browsing from the device itself is sorta annoying. Other than that, I love using it with my Samsung BD-P2500.
  20. that's not bad. Is that through Fluke? I want to ask them about the insane battery drain on my meter, perhaps they'd look it over while it is in?
  21. compared to non over smoothing DACs?
  22. "I bet it won't be long before someone has that as their avatar"
  23. DC offset? That's the one thing people shouldn't be using those crappy Harbor Freight meters for.
