  1. Just because a technology is used to cut a record, doesn't make it good. Case in point, inner grove distortion.
  2. Source on hard to find parts? That's my specialty Two sources, both very reliable. Search Results LU1014D N-Channel POWERJFET Lovoltech 2pcs - eBay (item 220338538567 end time Jul-01-09 12:29:33 PDT) Also, I'd suggest trying the IXYS DMOS devices if you want to go back to that plan
  3. so that's where all those diodes went
  4. just remove the mesh. Best mod ever.
  5. sorry, right thread, but ambiguous post. Here's a schematic.
  6. Doug, I have a considerable number of LSK170 that are already grouped by Idss. In general, they fall into the Toshiba "V" grade Idss classification. I'd be more than happy to ship you a bag of them and let you choose whatever pairs you'd like. Failing that, I have a considerable number of the Toshiba parts (both binned by Idss, and still in original packaging) that I could send as well. I use a similar topology with my NOS DAC, except using a eight legged devil instead of a transformer I guess I was referring more to this type of topologies discussed in this thread, but I appreciate the information about DC offset. I wouldn't have though about that diyAudio Forums - CHOKE Loaded MOSFET, easy to build - Page 1 I think you need your own thread around here, many people enjoy picking your brain about things In fact, your name came up the other day with respect to a CCS for Pars Counterpoint Preamp. Maybe a mod around here can make that happen (thread split)!
  7. Congrats! I hope the ear burn-in continues to be so successful!
  8. choose clothing
  9. I think you're ready to look for a few customers to build amps for, don't you? (runs away, very fast... how fast is a Dalek anyways?)
  10. Justin may not like that. .. use PTFE trimmers
  11. I suppose any powerful headphone amp could be considered an integrated amp, as long as it can handle low impedance loads... but then I suppose that's my point. What is an integrated amp anyways? Attenuation + Gain?
  12. I don't know why, but people use serial caps for global feedback compensation quite often. It cannot be that small values aren't available (<5pF) as they are in mica. I dunno why really... I bet your BHSE has some unpopulated locations in this spot as well
  13. I dunno about recording industry, but it's the only way to properly setup a turntable for example.
  14. I use serial connected caps in my little amp
  15. Am I right I saying there is only a single seller of this product?
  16. Not working, but... got this for $40:
  17. I'd expect more chokes from you Why not something like a choke loaded source follower?
  18. hey, thats a fun idea. What about using those LU1014D power JFETs?
  19. I've never seen any DIY project marketed as an integrated amp. Your task, if you choose to accept it, is to find out why this is.
  20. excellent point. I do happen to have a few boards laying around for this amp Post Jack if you can find -=someone=- to build an amp for you....
  21. if he's doing it for himself, it's definitely retirement I guess that remains to be seen.
  22. I 100% agree with this statement. I have countless PRP resistors in about a dozen locations for this very reason. All I really have well organized is my transistors., which reminds me that I need to go by some local places and collect some empty TO-220 tubes.
  23. Just a random suggestion. Try putting them basically perpendicular to the floor with no toe in.
  24. yeah, I'd wait then... thanks!
