The Bugle can be configured with more gain... depends how much you need. I don't see why people don't understand this. Anyways, I built one with 60dB gain before and ran it with the DL-103D into a line-stage and a Creek headphone amp I had at the time with no issues. nope, the Israeli Morel Morel supposedly licenses some of their technology from Dynaudio. In fact, a lot of their line has some "equivalent" Dynaudio part.

I've noticed this as well. Although, I would say after listening to the 840C + KGSS + SR-007 that the fault is probably the player a bit. The highs sound amazing... yup, amazing. The mids not so, there is some digital sound there and they are a bit thin sounding. Not so with either my analog setup or my Museatex NOS DAC, though the highs seem to suffer a bit. Makes me think that the upsampling adds a bit of "air" to the sound, much like BSC lift in speaker design if you're familiar with that.

I wish. I have a nice floor goban made from Katsura and a nice shogi table board from Katsura as well, both from Hokkaido. Kaya is so expensive ... I'd like to try and use it to put under amplifiers and what not ... so small blocks / cubes would be fine.

I've been in and out of that transport. First, there is a company still servicing them. Secondly, the laser assemblies are very common, and run $10-$20. I found them at http://www.electronix.com/. I don't remember the exact part number, but it's not hard to find one you open it. The transport mechanism is made by Technics.

One thing to note, is that there are various flavors of I2S. I just finished snooping on my new Muse player and found that they use the Philips I2S "standard" format, so yeah for me, as this dove-tails perfectly into my "plans". ! I have no idea what the North Star uses, but this would be the first thing to figure out.

so, I just need to figure out when the K701 was released, figure out the maximum number of burn-in hours, then advertise a pair with this number of hours and some crazy burn-in technology and me + $$$ ?
