Glenn Gould - The Complete Original Jacket Collection
luvdunhill replied to postjack's topic in Music
fantastic set. Especially if you prognosticated its release, and sold the older less comprehensive box set and then bought this one and were out a total of $20 -
granted I was just nit-picking grawk... as for the sigma22, I'd probably disagree, case in point being the totally overkill, John Curl wannabe shunt regulated designs. That hasn't stopped me from building a bunch of sigma22s though!

well, perhaps I instilled too much confidence in you, young grasshopper. It's just a guess after all. you could also try taking that Y splitter that caused the problem in dallas (provided it's the right gender) and sticking both outputs off one jack.
-
toss the ones that won't fit on the end of a garden hose for sure...
-
not with those puny 5AR4s and Hammond chokes, that's for sure. How about some WE314A and Lundahl LL1638 with parallel coils?
-
ya, but the tubes are rectifier for a psu, which the beta22 isn't (it's an amplifier), so this is somewhat non sequitor. A beta22 with a tube rectified and choke loaded power supply would definitely be doable and cool...
-
er, maybe... I would stay safe with the 560v that Sennheiser recommends. What amp will you be bringing, perhaps the bias is adjustable?
-
no problem! I'm assuming that the "yes" means you tried it and it worked, not that it has the outputs and you're going to buy some interconnects to see if it might work?
-
can you whistle and hum at the same time and control the two pitches individually?
-
Elementary my dear Watson... Can you run an unbalanced output from the PCA-2 to the subwoofer?

Cambridge Audio 840c Impressions and Comparisons
luvdunhill replied to tkam's topic in Home Source Components
I'm posting in this thread as I have some comparisons to this player from listening to Al's at the DFW meet. However, I have a quick question for the peanut gallery: "Has anyone heard any of Muse Electronics players?" http://www.museelectronics.com/ -
read my suggestion more carefully
-
try unplugging one of the PCA-2's balanced outputs
-
does it do this if you put your hand on the metal chassis?
-
well-said.

what are spambots, are those like head-fi n00bs?
-
What, is it Icelandic new-year or something?

If you don't like the KGBH, then I don't think you'll like the KGBH SE, from what I know of the "upgrades". From what I understand the new amp, dubbed the KGST will have less power than the BH, in which case, I wouldn't hold out hopes for this combination either with the SR-007. The direction needs to be more class A, more power, more heat. Let's not go down this rabbit-hole here at head-case. No, this isn't a concession or agreement with the above line of logic, in fact it's the opposite.

Inexpensive, but decent, CD transport with AES/EBU
luvdunhill replied to philodox's topic in Home Source Components
also, I think there is a 50, 60, and 110 ohm aes/ebu, so I'd look into that as well. I could of course be totally wrong, and probably googling myself would save me public embarrassment, but I'm lazy this morning. -
really? I was thinking dual mono as well, due to the indirectly heated GM70s...
