have you tried mil-spec opamps?- Post the last thing you bought!
HDCD is so... 1990- Sonata vs. AT440MLA vs. DL-103
well, you should at least buy the kit, as the group buy is ending soonish and then there's a bit of a wait afterwards. Here's a link to the guy you need to contact. http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=1421009#post1421009 Once the kit goes, it will be harder to find the boards and parts.- Post the last thing you bought!

Rap(e)tor?- Sonata vs. AT440MLA vs. DL-103
oh yeah wise-guy, how many variants have been made? (not including things like the Zu modded versions, etc.)- Sonata vs. AT440MLA vs. DL-103
It can also be set to 61dB- Sonata vs. AT440MLA vs. DL-103
and you can roll op amps with the Bugle!- Sonata vs. AT440MLA vs. DL-103
The Bugle can be configured with more gain... depends how much you need. I don't see why people don't understand this. Anyways, I built one with 60dB gain before and ran it with the DL-103D into a line-stage and a Creek headphone amp I had at the time with no issues. If you have your heart set on step-up iron, I'd go with the Lundahl. one just sold on Audiogon for a decent deal. http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?anlgcart&1206201664- Sonata vs. AT440MLA vs. DL-103
go with the Bugle! Also, another particular noteworthy phono stage is a DIY Pass Pearl. go DIY!- Favorite tools
anything made by Panavise- Sonata vs. AT440MLA vs. DL-103
you should try the DL-103D, it's the best of the series, IMHO- Post the last thing you bought!
nope, the Israeli Morel Morel supposedly licenses some of their technology from Dynaudio. In fact, a lot of their line has some "equivalent" Dynaudio part.- Post the last thing you bought!

fill in the blank: ______, the poor man's Dynaudio drivers... I just bought 6 of 'em.- The Headcase Stax thread
I've noticed this as well. Although, I would say after listening to the 840C + KGSS + SR-007 that the fault is probably the player a bit. The highs sound amazing... yup, amazing. The mids not so, there is some digital sound there and they are a bit thin sounding. Not so with either my analog setup or my Museatex NOS DAC, though the highs seem to suffer a bit. Makes me think that the upsampling adds a bit of "air" to the sound, much like BSC lift in speaker design if you're familiar with that.- Vista SP1
I'm pulling it part at work to see what they "fixed" but didn't tell anyone about- Legit headphone stands
why not put them in their flight case? that way you don't stretch out the leather headband or torque the metal arcs?- Legit headphone stands
I wish. I have a nice floor goban made from Katsura and a nice shogi table board from Katsura as well, both from Hokkaido. Kaya is so expensive ... I'd like to try and use it to put under amplifiers and what not ... so small blocks / cubes would be fine.- Legit headphone stands
can you get me some Kaya wood?- Inexpensive, but decent, CD transport with AES/EBU
I've been in and out of that transport. First, there is a company still servicing them. Secondly, the laser assemblies are very common, and run $10-$20. I found them at http://www.electronix.com/. I don't remember the exact part number, but it's not hard to find one you open it. The transport mechanism is made by Technics. - Legit headphone stands
