the SR-007 has the cable soldered directly to the stators via very thin pieces of silver foil. The "connector" looking thing is simply for strain relief.

wow, that really sucks... maybe I should have really layed into how crappy those Pioneer transports are... I try not to be a kill-joy when people get new toys, but these damn things suck so much I really should have made an exception. I've had good luck with www.electronix.com for replacement gears and such...

actually, it sounded really really good, as the stands are definitely the weak link in the lower end models... that's why the Mye stand upgrade is so great....

I totally agree. I'm not sure how they pull it off... Thiel, GMA, Vandersteen, Dunlavy, Meadowlark ... I bet you can guess why I think these all sound great

well, I owned a Shelter 90X and wasn't all that happy with it once I heard the Zyx cartridges. How does it compare against the Bloom, I'd choose the Bloom in a heart beat. It's been quite a while since I've heard any Shelter cartridges, though. For the price, it's definitely worth a shot. I cannot say I've ever seen a Bloom for sale on the used market.

I have a Whest PS.20 phono stage that needs to go on the market soon to pay off some new projects dunno if you're looking in that price range or not...... I do have a try before you buy policy for certain people
