Interesting concept, but at that introductory price, dunno what they are thinking. I regularly use a nokia internet tablet as book reader. Not EVDO capable, but I can hook it up to my treo 650 via BT on the road and it's wifi at home or hotspots. So I think I'll stick to this.

Also, Many guys keep the same ID/user name in different forums. Even though may be quite time consuming, googling user names could provide a way to contact them in other forums as last resort.

Justin, I think that if you post some info on your website asking people who pre-ordered the pico to shoot you an email, you'll get quite a few that way.

Who's agitating my dots? You agitatin' my dots....

Nice pics Nate. Thanks! So you liked the w5000? Were they stock single ended or balanced? So, Tom went "light" this time? No meitner stuff/electrostats?

What do you think of "markl Mod for Denon AH-D5000" thread?
CD44hi replied to purk's topic in Headphones
Actually, 1924 or whatever, is part of his street address. I know that because I once made the mistake of selling him an amp. Worst transaction in H-F history. He may be a good seller, but not a good buyer IMO. I also saw him once at a philly meet: he is old, but not 83... -
Oh, no, in this case was a CRL, have you tried bending one of those suckers?
 -
A great advantage is that if the power cord is stiff enough you can actually semi-levitate the gear with them and get rid of any "spurious vibrations." I've seen gear that needs blocks to be placed on top, otherwise the powercord will lift them from the rack....

condescending with an agenda is what I think... here is the thread that spritzer brings up. I took issues with a few things he wrote. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=264396

I don't think they sound horrible either. But I can totally understand if some don't like them. In my opinion they actually sound fantastic out of the qualia 007.

Can't answer this as I don't own the MFSL. Got to listen to bonus live CD for a bit. It's ok for a live recording. nothing remarkable though.
 -
Worthy of picking up. Much improved instrument presentation and "crispiness" of the sound. Good re-master. Haven't listen to the bonus material, including the second CD of live at the Elyse'e. Will report back once I listen to everything.

I think the SA5000 are recable worthy. Nice opening of the sound. Not as dramatic as with the 010, but noticeable. I may go for one of those funky pfr.... pffft
 -
Hey Elephas, how are the PFR-V1 sounding? are your sa5000 re-cabled?
 -
Have a great day! Hope you get to listen to your R10s today!
 -
Oh, so you are doing the actual installation yourself? Interesting. Cable looks great.
 -
Hum, dunno. Here is more or less a run down of the steps I followed during the installation: I started by updating to the latest version of windows media player. (since the netflix player is basically running on WMP) Then I did the netflix installation. The connection I use is FiOS. What does it shows when you first go into the "watch instantly" area as your video quality? I haven't had any poor resolution issues.

Happy B-day! Hope you get some quality time with your fav cans!

Anyone else try this? I have been playing with this feature for the last 2.5 months or so. I love it! I think it's the baby steps of the things to come. As of now availability of current features is limited, so if you are into the latest releases, this is not for you. If you like older movies and shows then this will provide quite a bit of entertainment. Some recent movies are available, specially art and foreign. As to the resolution, I don't think it's quite at the DVD level, but not too far behind. So it may not be for everyone. As of now the way it works is that you get as many hours of instant watching as $ you pay for your plan. Right now i've been burning most of the time watching "heroes" and the .5 of the 1st season of the new DrWho series.

Yeah, I myself got into an exchange on h-f with sovkiller on a thread about a stax/rudistor amp combination. My main issue (well besides the constant propaganda agenda) is he sounds so frickin' patronizing. Hard-line on his agenda. If we are going to have an open discussion, then let it be open. I tried to challenge every single argument he was trying to make, at the end he frankly stated he was tired of arguing for the sake of arguing. I see it as he had no valid arguments to make anymore. I had the hammer ready for more.

I have heard the MAXX speakers, they sounded, well, huge, and extremely resolving. Treble wasn't over powering, but they were being driven by the AR ref CD7 tube cd player and some VTL reference monos, so I would be really surprised if they sounded horrible, (which they didn't). But, man are we talking serious cash here. That is wayyyyyy out of my league. Heard the puppies 7 or 8 a while back, those had a smaller soundstage, very dynamic, but also agree on them being on the bright side of the spectrum. But those I heard out of a wadia 860xi that tends to be on the brighter side as well, so take that with a grain of salt.

as far as I know the northstar DAC is single ended. But they came out with a single box player that has balanced outs.... http://www.northstar.it/northstar_it.html?audio=sapphirecd.html
