  1. Good going. I didn't get to ride this weekend. Bummer because I am looking at the CWC in early September. If I don't start racking up the miles, that is going to be seriously painful. Hah! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  2. good luck on the next steps Jacob!

  6. Hey Chris, This would be your ideal sport? [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. The frame looks to be in amazing shape. Lovely color. If the grip shift for Ultegra 600 is similar to those of the earlier indexed grip shift for mountain bike groups, it's sort of a drag. Does not gives you any feedback and feels very sterile, i.e disengaged from the ride. Also, 8-speed groups are obviously very limited at the top end. Most go to 23, or 25 tops. Hard to tell from the pic, but seems like a 23 top sprocket. The other thing with vintage groups is that when things brake, it is a real hassle to get a replacement part. I wish it was available as frame only since Shimano Ultegra 11 speed would look great there. The frame does look barely used.
  8. Chris, the update is pretty harmless as you can select what mode on the shift box under the stem, so if you end up not liking it, just select regular shifting instead of synchronized one. Jeff, have you checked the Niner RLT steel? It's Reynolds 853, which is decent enough for a mass produced bike. I got the cheaper aluminum and I think you have the carbon Niner, right? So, if you like the geometry, that is a solid option.. I've heard the steel rides great. Also, if you are thinking higher end steel, custom, Kirk may be a good option. Jeff, meant to add: If an older Serotta steel is what you are looking for, The Paceline is the place to keep an eye out for one. 56/58ish for you right? What I have is a CSi, outstanding ride. Atlanta is good model as well.
  9. Wow, sorry to hear about the Vector problem Chris. I have been reading on DC rainmakers blog about the P1 and the main issue seems to be bearings going bad. But otherwise seem much straightforward than the Garmin. Jeff good to hear on the Garmin going strong for you. These are the V2? On reading about the vector2 the main complaint seems to be battery drain. So the punch line is ymmv and all that. [emoji12] I have not posted much here, but still ride. I updated the Di2 bikes to do the sync shifting and I like it. I almost never touch the front shifter any more. Last September got a Niner rlt9 on close out at Jenson for commuting set it with panniers. Love it. Also picked up a beater Litespeed, that turned out to be an outstanding ride. Surprisingly comfy. 10. Those of you with pedal-based power meters, what's your take? basically, I am looking at the vector vs powertap.
  11. By any chance did they put latex tubes in? Those will leak significantly 1-2 days. Requires pumping before every ride. Otherwise indeed check the rim for debris or pinching while replacing the tube. I.e bitting with the tire or lever. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Sucks, too young... MTVclassic is running a set list of music videos Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. This is in massdrop, I am almost positive I've seen it before there. Seems too good to be true, jack of all trades: xduoo-xd-05-dac Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Guy is in late spring competition season, takes a break to visit home, goes on a short bike ride to stretch the legs, gets run over by a van. Sucks. When your ticket is up, it is up. Scarponi was well liked and appreciated by his peers. It is a great loss for his team and the pro-cycling circuit. The pictures with his kids are quite sad in the light of his demise http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/michele-scarponi-killed-in-training/ http://www.cyclingnews.com/features/michele-scarponi-a-career-of-smiles-and-sacrifice/
  17. I think one possible reason why people have been getting interested into bats relates to the apparent immunodeficiency that leads to fungal colonization and eventual demise. This is actually very worrisome as despite the low (but very real) risk of rabies, bats are great for the environment. Much like owls, the silent rodent killer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. When I mentioned Verizon fios vs streaming, regardless of what the target res claimed is for fios, it looks as compressed shit vs straight stream. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I think most providers are doing similar. For instance Verizon's programing looks like crap compared to the same content streamed using the same channel's app. Same for content from Amazon Video or Netflix compared to straight from FiOS Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Happy Birthday Al! I hope you are having a great day [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Have a Great birthday! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Just realized the whole windshield stuff is pretty OT for this thread. Got the glass replaced and it indeed is pretty much a copy of the oem glass. Some of the mold ends are not completely down on the ends and I may need to take care of that, but I think that is mostly cosmetic as it is the outer mold. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. That was wild! Kimmel did well. Re:best actress card, how come duplicates? Weird Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
