I would stay away from the SPC/Silver variety cables then. You have much fewer options when it comes to a pure copper cables that plays to the strengths of the Senns. If it makes you feel any better I also have a Cardas, Zu, SAA, various Moon Audio cables, Headphile, and APS cables... just don't use them much. I would be a crappy MOT if I didn't know my competition.

The 501s look rather easy to open up. Follow the PDF linked above to find what wire is what channel... should be a rather simple task

I am sure they would eventually get back to you with your answer. That is the surest way to find out. I know the color designations of the K701s but I am not confident enough to say they would be the same for the 501s.

If they are like the other AKGs which I would tend to think they would be it should be a 4 wire cable.

Where would I send cable to get half JimP mod? I cant afford full JimP mod nor do I feel that I can handle that far beyond original state...
