Went to see Selling Fairfax by the Pound last night (local, awesome Genesis tribute band). Setlist went something like this (from memory, so excuse any inaccuracies, and really doubt the order -- there was an intermission in there somewhere): Eleventh Earl of Mar Dancing with the Moonlit Knight Firth of Fifth some song from the first album something with the lyric baby (Silent Sun, maybe?) Blood on the Rooftops First and Second Homes by the Sea Follow You Follow Me Duke Suite (Behind the Lines/Duchess/Guide Vocal) Keep it Dark In Too Deep Entangled Horizons/Supper's Ready Chamber of 32 Doors The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway Musical Box (Closing Section) Dance on a Volcano In the Cage Medley instrumental section from Three Sides Live (inc. Cinema Show and Battle of Epping Forest) Afterglow Watcher of the Skies omitted encore: The Knife (!)

I just can’t imagine trying to dial in the relative phases myself, without some special equipment keeping me honest.

Yeah, I wouldn’t do it, even if I were having my earlobe piercings dilated. -
Nursery Cryme So great, from the opening barn burner, “Musical Box” to the underrated closer, “Fountain of Salmacis”.

I’d actually recommend going backwards from Selling England by the Pound ...but yeah, if prog ain’t your thing, don’t force yourself. They are pretty much prog incarnate during the PG years. Many consider ...Lamb... to be the pinnacle of prog, and it’s as impenetrable as it gets.

I hate people. I should probably live where there aren’t people.

Yeah, what he said.

(Cups hand to ear) Pardon?

Happy birthday! (party favour noise and hat)

The rest of the albums range from completely abstract and experimental to straight ahead almost-jazz.

I tend to use this adage in reverse. If it’s good as a latte, it’s good as coffee plus creamer (I asked for almond milk lattes, so I cream with various nut milks). Besides, I don’t need it to be steamed milk hot. But that’s just me, I’m not trying to change anyone else’s mind. Please continue to enjoy your little hearts in your foam. They’re cute. ? So...yeah, I’m a French press guy, too. I tend towards French and espresso roasts.

Not today, but this week, I started learning JSP. Didn't realize that was something different than Javascript (which run on the browser), but rather, Java Server Pages (which run on the server). Somehow, I've managed to spend most of my career avoiding all but the most trivial GUI work. (I usually do backend work. [cue Steve]) And I already was told I could call myself an expert once I learned how to do Decorators. I think she was being sarcastic, but who cares, the guys who usually do the GUI work are too busy trying to upgrade all the code from Java7 to Java8, and I'm pretty sure I can get it all done in a couple days. So...pride.

Disen Gage, Libertage -- egad, this is superb. It's like if you took King Crimson's scat-based improvs, and made music out of them. Definitely listening to the rest of their catalog. https://disengage.bandcamp.com/album/libertage

That does look tasty.

Tangerine Dream Classic Extensions—very subtly remixed Tangerine Dream—it’s quaffably delicious! I’m already on my second.
