  1. Yeah, that came out perfect. Everyone enjoyed it.
  2. Mixed vegetables goulash
  3. Happy birthday, Ken! (party favour noise)
  4. Blade of the Immortal on Amazon Prime. I read the manga way back when, and so far (1 episode in) it seems faithful to the original manga, down to the symbol on his robe, although smartly they play it down. All I remember was that it starts out with the typical young-woman-hires-gruff-thug premise, and then creates the greatest long-running story arc out of it (it actually ends!). What I forgot was how totally fucked up some things are. They don’t shy away from that, or the blood. The ultra-violence is tastefully and stylizedly rendered, just as I remember the manga doing. I will have to go back and revisit to see if that was faithful or not. But so far I am happy with the treatment. Not for children or the squeamish. Rape, carnage, things you can’t unsee, etc. But the story makes it worth it.
  5. I want to hates it because it’s Behringer, but I have to admit it sounds pretty good.
  6. Alright, I have to admit I got drawn in by the name, but when the short description name-dropped Pallbearer, my interest went to "piqued".
  7. I got Whammed today. In a fucking Brooklyn Pizza, of all places. Gah!
  8. I’m not a fan of the obvious autotuned vocals, but the underlying song itself is cool and this video is amazing. I would have thought it was digitally manipulated all to kingdom come—and it is—but the underlying performance is smooth as something really smooth. Respect.
  9. As much as I loved Strong Girl Bong-soon, I am surprised it made it to the list. I can’t think of a single person I would recommend it to. I’ve heard good things about honorable mention Dark, but I’ve been waiting until I can pay attention, as I heard it requires concentration.
  10. Link please? I used to subscribe to that subreddit, but then I realized it was all just porn and hardly any discussion, and I can get my porn here, so I unsubbed, and now I forget what it was called. I ask because I'm now wondering if the subs are part of the same system.
  11. Did anyone take you up on the Korg? I'd be interested if your offer didn't make you revisit it and renew your interest in it.
  12. And either a supertweeter or a room correction microphone on top. Although a room correction microphone should probably be in the listening position, so it’s probably a supertweeter.
  13. I’ve been enjoying the Arthur Wallace series by Jonathan Wood. It’s kind of a weird cross section of comedy, action, horror and fantasy. Aliens, magic, a petite sword-wielding cursing female Scot, a grumpy Pakistani goth, an otherworldly librarian made out of books whose personality is comprised of characters from those books, many references to “What Would Kurt Russell Do?”...and that’s just the first book. It has that shift in tone on a dime from comedy to horror and back again that I love so much, plus typical British observations.
  14. Anna and the Apocalypse -- oh my resurrected Christ, BEST. MOVIE. EVER. It's a zombie Christmas musical. RIYL "Once More With Feeling", the random musical numbers in Sense8, (500 Days of) Autumn, etc.
  15. I’m sensing a theme here...no, that’s a lie. I have no idea, just...
  16. Indeed, that’s how I took it. I was really worried, too, that it’d be too hot for most, and that it just got thrown out.
  17. Unbeknownst to me, this fucking disappeared at the party. Some of it was actually stolen. I guess I’ll be making more.
  18. Finished season 4 of Expanse
  19. And vodka for the Russkies and perhaps borscht.
  20. “...former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne posits...” ”...talking head David Byrne posits...”
  21. Oh, unholy carp, they have the entirety of Max Richter's Sleep in Master on Tidal. Good night, my friends, see you in the morning.
  22. Those don’t look real. It’s like someone bought 3/4 scale or 1/2 scale everything else, and regular size speakers.
  23. "Kvorthus! C'mon! We're leaving without you!"
