  1. Ayup.
  2. We need to talk. I have a JP-8080, several E-mu modules (including the Morpheus), a Quadraverb GT...plus I spent a lot of time hanging out with rivetheads and goths in the 90s. I used to cite Skinny Puppy as one of my top 3 favourite acts...
  3. Yeezh. Best wishes you all. And Brent, quit eating biscuits already!
  4. Geiger counters have no sense of rhythm. Okay, if you want more gear instead of a DAW, then yes, more gear. I would recommend thinking of them in groups with the ability to sync aspects of them (especially sequencers), with dividers and multipliers so that they still unified. Fake polyphony! And get a nice warm guitar tube amp with a reverb, like a Fender Reverb.
  5. http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2019/10/27/apple-iphone-battery-drain-problem-upgrade-iphone-11-pro-max-update/ Doesn't seem to be affecting my iPad, though.
  6. Yes, brilliant. Thank you!
  7. You just need a DAW. Modular synthesizers are typically monophonic, so you only get to hear the one melody. Overdub a few things together and it will start to sound more complete. A reverb would help, too.
  8. The noodles soaked up the extra liquid as they were supposed to. But it’s still pretty spicy, so I skipped the garlic. I just threw in another jar of tomato sauce, any other recommendations to cut the heat? A nice flavored vinegar, like truffle vinegar? I can’t put milk in a chili...
  9. My spicy goulash/chili. So far, a little soupy, and easily the spiciest thing I’ve ever made without ruining it. Beef, rocoto paste, tomato sauce, beef broth, black beans, noodles, and several diced olives for salt and earthiness Cumin, paprika, a touch of dill and oregano, will add garlic in the morning
  10. Happy to hear you’re back.
  11. Opeth, In Cauda Venenum—if it was possible for them to turn their back on metal farther than 180 degrees, and embrace prog more, they did.
  12. I found out recently I work with a guy who’s played in various different bands (pop, country, etc.) and owned the studio where Pentagram recorded their first album, Relentless.
  13. That would make sense, he certainly used some other effects in that scene alone.
  14. Gilmour appears to be singing the high lead melody during that first slow section -- I didn't know that! And I didn't know he could sing that high.
  15. H pp B rthd y! (p rty f v r n s )
  16. Love Ólafur and Nils, thanks for posting.
  17. Yes, they tend not to have extremely low (amplitude) resonances and attenuate vibrations.
  18. Lamb Vindaloo, take 2 -- that's the stuff!
  19. Thanks, everyone! It was an enjoyable day. I took a 4 day weekend, so I did what I usually do on my birthday: nothing! I had a big deployment last Wednesday, and one of the guys fucked it up Thursday morning, so I spent most of Thursday doubting myself and reconsidering taking any time off, but I figured it out at the end of the day, and my confidence in myself was restored, so I returned to my natural state: giddy with pride and full of myself.
  20. Lamb Vindaloo. It’s delicious, but should be hotter.

    Watchmen

Loved the graphic novel, loved the movie, definitely looking forward to the series.
  22. If I ever do an album entitled, ‘?’, a picture of a black cat doing something like this will be the album cover.
  23. No, it's not a different song with the same name, it's a cover of the song you're probably thinking of.
  24. I must’ve been in the right mood for it, I loved it. Really good choice for the Halloween season. It makes no sense whatsoever, but at least they don’t try to explain it with fake science. Now I have to see the Critters movies. (Also done by Chioto.). He also did the puppeteering in Team America: World Police.
  25. Killer Klowns from Outer Space — campy fun, and the animatronics is surprisingly good. I just saw a Killer Klown switch from silly grin to maniacal.
