  1. Can we make this: ...into a smiley, please? , perhaps?
  2. It's not what you stated, it's what you assumed/implied -- that the HD650 is just better, and whether or not I agree with you is a function of upstream equipment. I disagree, let's leave it at that. (Just so that what I am assuming/implying is clear -- I think it's just a matter of taste. I value a straightforward delivery more than anything, and to me, the Senns are just too laid back in the same way that Grados are too forward. To me. ) Oh, and "scaling" isn't necessarily a good thing -- if you can't afford the high-level upstream equipment, then what you're saying is, you're hearing an inferior phone (to itself even).
  3. Clean your office. That always surprised my admins.
  4. No, they don't -- that's what we're going to be stuck with because of the writer's strike.
  5. Man gets offended by http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMaiXSiYVck . Gee, maybe he shouldn't have done whatever he did. I hate people who "justify" their issues like this. What's the word for this, "externalization"?
  6. So...good, since this would be the first step? You'd have nothing but reality TV on all channels at all times? Or do you just mean "Hollywood", and not "the movie-making industry"? 'cause I kind of like movies. Some of them, anyway.
  7. Apparently, Black is Green.

  9. That was worth clicking on. So what happens when I post it as a link? EDIT: okay, now with the noembed tags [noembed] [/noembed] Okay, cool, that works exactly as I'd like it to.
  10. Too fucking hip. Thanks, Todd. And for those of you who are on low-bandwidth type situations, I highly recommend the flashblock add-in for Firefox.
  11. Yup; dewing et. Already got the quote, just waiting for funds. They will also have the A900ti in December timeframe, although I'll probably get them from audiocubes, even though it'll be just a little bit more expensive. Maybe. Perhaps.
  12. That's a lot of headphones. Some are even good. Someone ID them, please?
  13. With the right kind of girls, it would.

  15. Less JPN/VTG, more A900Ti/A950LTD talk, please. The JPN/VTG are already a given, if/when I find the right price.
  16. [me=Dusty Chalk]grinds gears[/me] Oops, sorry.
  17. People who are high on crack like the 650's?
  18. Bumping up an old topic. So yeah, after reading repeatedly how nice the JPN's and the VTG's are, I'm passively in the market for them (although it has to coincide with my having money, of course, which I currently don't), but was wondering if anyone has any additional thoughts on this, now that the a900ti and a950ltd are out...? Are they in the running, or are they more in W2002/W100 territory, or "other"? Currently, I use the CD3000 as sort of a poor-man's L3000, as, until I get them recabled (the L3000's, that is), I am really unhappy with the midrange suckout. I'm actually tempted to put in an EQ. The Sony's certainly don't have the same delivery of transients that the Audio Technica's do (can you say, "smoov"?), but since I'm not doing critical listening, they are perfectly adequate for passive work listening. I'm tempted to just get a pair of each and decide for myself. They are black (the A500 and the A950ltd are, anyway, even if the a900ti is not), after all, and closed, the former of which is not a criteria, but certainly a plus, and the latter of which is definitely a criteria.
  19. I have a hard time justifying upgrade power cords. I mean, c'mon, have you seen the shit that's in your walls? Chain is only as strong as its weakest link, etc. As long as it is not so bad as to make things worse, I have a hard time seeing how it could be better. And I certainly couldn't hear the difference, the one time I tried.
  20. (I also saw Tag Heuer in the store, but not on their site.)
