  1. Oh, okay, I misunderstood. I thought they were the same thing, only before some sort of split.
  2. Ridiculous! I think I need to hear someone else's R10 setup besides Hirsch's.
  3. Thanks! Fucking lapped me, you fucking fuck.
  4. Went a little apeshit at Rasputin and Amoeba when out in California. Here's the beginning of the list: Fear Falls Burning & Birchville Cat Motel Fear Falls Burning & Nadja Hirsche Nicht Aufs Sofa -- Im Schatten der Moehre Robert Rich -- Humidity Martha Argerich, Michael Collins, Nelson Freire, Chantal Juillet, et all -- Bartok, Liszt, Prokofiev, Music from Saratoga, Live Chris Connelly -- Episodes Peter Gabriel -- Birdy (SACD) David Bowie -- Ziggy (SACD) Allman Brothers -- Live at Fillmore East (SACD) Momus -- Stars Forever
  5. I'm not saying I don't like them, I just never got that much by them. I'd probably like them a lot, from what I've heard. I'm the one that's mediocre (as a fan), not them.
  6. Scofield Trio w/ScoHorns at Yoshi's in Oakland last week -- kinda meh, I remember liking him better than I liked him that night.
  7. Jesus. When did that happen? BTW, what you win is, the "I have no life"/I am a net.addict contest. Congratulations, says the runner-up. Oh, and: YOU ARE NOT YOUR POST COUNT!!!1!(eleventy)
  8. Ugh. I've heard some audionote speakers, and they sucked. They turned any music that was in any way "busy" into a wall-of-sound mess. And no, I don't listen loudly, ask anyone.
  9. Ditters. Although I do refer to the "not that there's anything wrong with that" episode all the time.
  10. Rob Dougan, promotional videos for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDi9OeJqwG4 -- disturbing video with a touching ending, but watch the whole thing -- disturbing, freaky video -- I love the imagery at 2:50, but watch the whole thing -- promotional video with Christopher Walken...dancing. He's no Fred Astaire, but on a scale of me to Fred Astaire, he's a lot closer to Fred Astaire than you would have thunk.
  11. I like the external capacitor bank.
  12. Has someone crawled and archived the site? Is there a way to get archive.org to do it for us?
  13. Seconded (albeit late).
  14. Einstuerzende Neubauten, "Sabrina" -- for bass and bass "gank" (prat) Stabbing Westward, "Darkest Days" (and the rest of the album) -- dynamics, resolution Nine Inch Nails, "Wish" (and the rest of Broken) -- dynamics, resolution Camille, "P?le Septembre", "Ta Douleur", "Au Port" -- correctness of female vocals Jenifer Smith/Code Mesa, "When The World Began" -- electronic production, femme vocals Rob Dougan, "Furious Angels" -- electronic production, male vocals Pink, "Hell Wit Ya (Treat Me Right)" -- bass prat, synthesized Alan Parsons Project, "I, Robot"/"I Wouldn't Want To Be Like You" -- synthesized production, wicked good production Talk Talk, "The Rainbow", "Desire" -- sparse production, dense production, modern production (distortion, etc.)
  15. I don't remember liking Paper Monsters that much, but then, I only listened to it once. He still has one of the greatest voices in rock'n'roll.
  16. I'm a big fan of Mouse On Mars (surprisingly good live act) and a mediocre fan of Mark E. Smith/The Fall, so I will be getting this...eventually.
  17. Too cool -- I'm using unread posts to read the forum right now, and despite having been off for 10 days, am getting them all, since I'm reading by thread rather than by post.
  18. They're them, and I am me. And no worries about the photo -- I've seen them in person (although only under meet conditions [==well lit]). It was only the (fictitious) black ones that I had not seen.
  19. Wait...his camera made the headphones black? Sounds like a feature to me...although I can't go around life staring at everything through a camera's lens.
  20. Okay, so way back on page 1, I asked the wrong question. The question I should have been asking is, why is that one so black? Most of them are the striped woody look, yes? Like this: How does one get the black pair? EDIT: Never mind about the US$740 price -- I see that audiocubes still has them for US$718 shipped.
  21. Most laptops don't let you upgrade their graphics cards.
  22. There's been so many problems with software for Vista, that they've begun shipping image CD's so that you can fall back to XP just by calling customer service and getting a "switch on" code. You might (a) find out if that's an option; ( see if there's a cost difference; © give Vista a try. If I had had that option when I got my last computer, I would've. It should be free, since the different operating system configurations (otherwise same computer) was the exact same price.
  23. Oh, you posting it isn't what bothered me, it's the concept that bothers me. "Uh, I can't seem to get as much stinky air as the other one with the different diameter, but at least it's long enough this time to get through to the other side of the yicky water without having to lean almost all the way in. Daddy." Oh, and I've seen worse. There's another forum that I'm on that has several sensitive women on it, and some of the guys go out of their way to be as gross as possible, trying to offend their sensibilities. So, no problem. My sense of humor is pretty bad, too. Are you familiar with Lenore, the Cute Little Dead Girl? The invention, in particular, reminds me of "The Thing What Came from the Poopy Chair".
