Why would it sound like poo? Ignore him... Be very careful. Other than that, no, but I'd be interested in what you end up getting. I see no reason to have a limit on optical, other than the fragility of glass... EDIT: Just thinking out loud, look into optical network cable.

Note avatar. I basically don't watch television. Every once in a while, I'll pass by when my housemate is watching, and I'll get sucked in. Got sucked in for several hours over the weekend, but I was sick and didn't feel like getting up, don't know what her excuse was...she keeps considering getting cable, I really hope she doesn't. I'll probably get sucked in by concerts on M2 and stuff, but I told her, since I watch 1/10th of what she watches, I ain't payin' for it, so it's entirely up to her to get it... Now...DVDs, that's something else entirely...I love watching those... Oh, and: Ditters, more or less (back when I was addicted to television around 1999 or so, I watched more television than surfed the internet, but if I were to get addicted again, I'd probably surf more than watch television).

Yes, you did. I mean, let me rephrase... Don't think of it as a holier-than-thou-music-lecture, think of it as my take on things -- I been there, myself, man, I was getting bored with my listening system, I thought it was too austere...then I said, "fuck it, I feel like listening to some headbanging music", and I was in bliss again. I was just trying to help out -- perhaps point out something you hadn't realized. Don't get all hoighty-toity on me.

If you're bored with the music you listen to, listen to less boring music. Don't blame the headphones.

Hey, TheSloth, did you see that they revamped the Quad site? Looks like they've reintroduced the active series, and they're introducing an upgrade on the L series, the L2 series. I wonder if they're going to do away with the L series? I hope not...
-
Bah, Humbug! No, wait, that's Christmas... Happy New Year!
-
But...but...but...they're in series! That makes it twice as good, right?
-
Nice. I really like the look of the Quad L series speakers. I've seen that Bird's Eye finish in person, and it really is nice.

She's a great musician, energetic, amazingly cute, and that strawberry blonde that I like so much. I want to hump her leg.

No, you missed the part where he said something bad about the RA-1 (or perhaps in relation to his own amp), and then was told he couldn't because he was a MOT. It was a way of silencing him. That's the part that pissed him off.

You can say goatsex here. You can even say goatfuck. You can even say go fuck yourself. Goatpenis, goatpussy, goatrack, goathanger. It's all good. Welcome back. A word of warning: you can post drunk here, just post pics of what you're drinking. You cannot take shit back. The rest is up to you.

I can only hope that he actually did pay for it. That will be its own punishment. When he compares it to listening to the iPod straight out of the headphone jack, and asks himself, "Why did I actually pay money for this?" maybe he will finally stop providing his Head-Fi.org site as a free shilling site for Ray Samuels Audio. Shill! Shill! Shill! Head-Fi.Org used to be a not-for-profit...

Bands I Useta Like Some really funny stuff in there. Make sure you read Smashing Pumpkins and Stabbing Westward in order. I also particularly liked the Phish one and laughed my ass off at the Stone Temple Pilots one. In fact, I'm getting the giggles right now.

I love 'em. Listen to them practically every day. Well, not lately, since my schedule actually corresponds with my co-workers', but whenever no-one else is around, the headphones come off, and they come on. I actually investigated their industrial division for a project for work, but they never got back to me with prices. I should revisit that. We still don't have a multimedia room.

* One glutton for punishment user And that comes standard, too.

Hey, I just noticed a flyer they threw in my bag -- 10% discount if I bring a friend in, and the friend gets the discount, too. So if you do go, please feel free to contact me to coordinate meeting me there, and we'll both get a 10% discount. I know I'm going to try to swing by there on Saturday, as they're having the sale anyway.

So, I have a new favourite record store -- it's called Strangeland Records. It's near the intersection of Columbia Pike and Little River Turnpike in Northern Virginia. They specialize in all the music I like the most -- industrial, goth, electro, metal and goth -- the dark musics, as it were. And punk (I'm not that into punk, but they are). And they're having a sale starting Friday. I found the new Agalloch, Unexpect, And One, a limited Psyclone 9 and a whole bunch of others I hadn't planned on getting. Don't go in there expecting to find Katie Melua. Unless she's suddenly become a Suicide Girl.

I'm going to throw an iota of information that hopefully will clarify: on linux, there are two things -- the operating system, and the window manager. You remember when you had dos, and you had to start up windows from the command line? And then it got moved to autoexec.bat? It's sort of like that. So they're usually referred to separately, although they're usually distributed together.
-
Yes, absolutely. Unfortunately, I know very little about it myself, but I will be doing this as well, and it's not hard. There's several boot-from-able CD's and/or DVD's that you can download and burn, if you want to try the different variants non-destructively. They're called live CD's or live DVD's. I have about 6 or 7 different ones. Someone on here...user "devwild", apparently...recommended Ubuntu/Kubuntu for their "live" CD's/DVD's. User "amb" also seems to be an avid linux user. See this thread. There was a link to dualbooting somewhere on microsoft.com, but I don't know if that's what you're looking for in terms of tutorials. You may just want to search on dualboot linux windows. I'm going to be doing it on two separate drives as well, but I'm 99.44% positive it can be done on one drive.

I have a feeling a recabling will help in that area. Not completely fix it to your liking, but at least to the extent that humanflyz describes.

Yeah, I figured that, what movie? I know it's not Billion Dollar Baby.
-
Doesn't who die? What is this a reference to?

Fun? This is annoying...how do I set a thread on 'ignore'? Moderators who take advantage of their moderating abilities for selfish purposes are no better than...well, you know...
