Huzzah -- thanks for posting that. Trent is my hero. How can you not love an attitude like that -- "I do what I want, I hope you like it, but will not pander..." That's exactly what being a musician is about. You do what you want (like we have a choice), and instead of trying to pander to a larger audience, you just try to find the people that will want to hear it instead. I've heard a lot of music with hip-hop influence (Kenna comes to mind), but that thing about layers and loops doesn't bode well...but I'm sure, coming from him, it will be fine. This will be his fastest record since With Teeth -- he's really on a roll.

Third wire to a "proper" ground is the same thing as wiring it to the box if wiring it to the box connects (electrically) to the plumbing and the plumbing is connected (electrically) to a proper ground, I.E. the earth. That's why it's called "ground" and "earth", depending what country you're from. But you need to make sure that that is indeed the case -- don't assume. The long and short of it is, either way is okay, as long as you electrically connect that third prong to ground somehow. Do not just "float" it. Billy -- you're basically telling us that, as a licensed electrician, you've been shocked several times? That doesn't bode well for business, dude. I wouldn't advertise that...

Kind of a bestial "snuff film". Kinda underwhelming. A friend of mine fed a rat to his pet snake once. I imagine it would not go over well on something like YouTube, but in real life, it was quite interesting.

First of all: sorry about the previous post -- wrong thread. In case you don't know, I watch what others listen to quite a bit, and found that I usually end up liking what you two listen to quite a bit, as well. I'm just not as vocal about it...I think I might have used to be, but not so much any more. I ended up getting the Stolen Babies because of its frequency on the NP list, and I have that DSO on my wishlist. It's just that I don't use Last.FM -- practically the only thing I listen to on the computer is Pandora and YouTube.

Okay, so I got a new monitor, this one, and found out that my graphics card is so old, it doesn't have a 1680x1050 resolution. It has higher, but not widescreen. And it's old enough that it's no longer being supported. So the short answer is I need a new computer. The longer answer is I ain't gettin' one right away, I was going to build it piecemeal -- a case here, a power supply the next month, motherboard and CPU the following, memory, etc. So what I want is a graphics card that will fit in my current computer, but will be good enough for my new computer. Note: I am not a gamer! I do not need dual SLI thisthatorthother. I won't even be watching DVDs on this thing (the new computer), but I do watch the occasional YouTube video and whatnot. So I just need a decent graphics card. If that's still not enough information, ask me questions, I'll try to answer. What other features do I want? I don't know. What other ones are out there? Do I need/want digital? This thing has a DVI input... Oh oh oh oh oh ... I do remember one thing: the main thing I will be trying to accomplish with my next computer is "quiet". So graphics cards with great big horkin' noisy fans are out. But ones that will adapt to a water cooler are in.

I really like my Etymotic ER-6i's. I've heard good things about the ER-4's, though I don't know which ones are best unamped. Sony MDR-V6/-7506's are pretty good unamped as well.
