  1. Yeah, I thought Reamde was pretty great, too. I still haven't started Seveneves, I probably should.
  2. Was: (excellent!) Is:
  3. Sushi, Ramen ugh, I ate too much
  4. Apparently, one of the gigs is going ahead... https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-northern-ireland-46161994
  5. Happy birthday! (party favour noise)

  8. This (I suspect). It was kinda rushed, she had been busy all week, and I was walking her from her desk to the elevator...
  9. No, I'm laughing. I can't believe I got her so wrong. Not entirely sure she's telling the truth, but I'm a feminist, so will take her at her word. And apologize for anything inappropriate I may have said in the past. I'm mentally replaying everything I've ever said, and there are quite a few cringe-worthy moments. What she must think of me, that I would say those things to a married woman.
  10. So apparently she can't because her son is coming home for Thanksgiving, and oh, by the way, didn't you know that I was married? 30 years now.
  11. I think the people in the office will be glad to know that I even have one, much less one worth stealing.
  12. 5 year old playing Bach: https://www.facebook.com/ClassicFM/videos/270728063763017/
  13. I’m not too proud to like poppy stuff, but I have to like it. Not that I understand the machinations of what it takes for me to like something, but I usually try to find someone with sympatico tastes, and then just follow them. I mean, I’m a huge Kylie Minogue fan, and I don’t even think of that as a guilty pleasure. LP’s video persona in this video appears to have been based on a muppet.
  14. A couple weeks ago, she wore this gossamer thin purple dress -- still tasteful, but I told her I loved that dress, purple was one of my favourite colours. Two days later, she wore another purple dress, this one while still being extremely tasteful, made my knees buckle. "DID YOU WEAR THAT JUST FOR ME?!?!" I think pretty much everyone heard me, because they've been smirking when they look at me when she's in the same roomspace as me. I don't think I'll have to ask, but you know, she can wear anything she wants to. She can wear a burka for all I care. I just hope she says yes. (She told me she'd think about it, check her calendar and such.)
  15. I just invited CGAW to Thanksgiving.
  16. Egad, did you post that ironically? I got about 18 seconds in before I said, 'goodbye'. I usually enjoy what you post, but this was just too commercial for me. Did I post this already? I thought I did. I love the laid back sensual groove, and the video fits it perfectly, and the women certainly aren't difficult to watch:
  17. Sazerac Rye is the deal of the century -- they only allow me to buy one bottle at a time here in Virginia, but I do every time I see it. I will have to try the Pikesville.
  18. Cockatiel + math rock ==
  19. I bought way too many apples -- Honeycrisp, Piñata, Sweetango. I used to like Pink Lady best, but now I don't know. These Honeycrisp ones are enormous!
  20. He tends to do shorter legs, but more of them, I wouldn't give up hope in 2019. Notice the dates on his site barely go past February. That's only 3 or 4 months away. I know I missed him in the DC area in a previous leg of the same tour -- the Philly date is already at least the second leg, and there could well be a third. To the Bone just won prog album of the year according to Prog magazine, so it wouldn't surprise me if he did a 3rd and a 4th leg. Interspersed with remixing yet another artist's entire catalog. Because he's a workaholic.
  21. Japanese Spiderman + a small amount of transforming https://www.facebook.com/afanofrobots/videos/324905621421147/UzpfSTExMjA3NzQyNTE6Vks6OTYzMzA4OTcwNTIwNjM4/
  22. Anise is very much similar to the key flavour in liquorice -- it's a very distinctive taste. Not for everyone. I happen to have enjoyed it when I first started on the 1920 (went back and checked -- yes, it is, indeed, the one I found to have a note of anise to it), but by the end of the bottle, I was tired of it. It's also possible that not all bottles have a note of anise to it, and just the batch I got. I will try it again to know for sure. (It obvious wasn't that much of a turn-off to me, if I'm willing to try it again.) Me: flipping between Sazerac Rye, Rendezvous Rye, and Farmstock #2 Rye. Rye? Rye not?
