  1. I'd be afraid if I attempted freeze and ship, that it would release the magic, but the next time you're in town (DC/NoVA), I will bring you some from here. Alas, I all but licked the plate clean. I won't say that their portions aren't generous -- they're not, but they're not stingy neither, it was just the right amount. I think I'll get some take out later today, so that I can doctor with Sambal Oelek.
  2. You know, I was going to say 'incorrect', but this may actually be correct. Curves just parts of the bacon outside of the melting bacon fat and/or press certain portions against the grilling surface more continuously, giving us three regions of cookedness to the bacon, ranging anything from burnt to steamed, giving us that classic meat and carbon flavor. Not necessarily a good thing, though, that carbon flavor.
  3. I just had some delicious brisket at Dixie Bones -- muuuuuch better (than Famous Dave's). The meat was practically flaking away like salmon. Perfection.
  4. May everyone's bacon always be flat. Thank you, Graham.
  5. What? No, his usage was correct and pitch perfect in it's amount and tenor. This is wrong. I got about 0:37 into this, and got angry and turned it off. I should probably go back in and give it a negative feedback, only I'm trying to eschew negative feelings so I'll pass. There's very little anger in 'chide' -- it's mostly light-hearted. Am I alone in this? If so, feel free to rebuke me.
  6. Venetian Snares has been putting a lot of his most classic stuff up on his bandcamp. Just sayin'.
  7. I applaud your use of this word.
  8. Had brisket at Famous Dave's last night -- meh. Wasn't no brisket fairy brisket.
  9. Back to Facebook, because that's where I get all my best material:
  10. Yeah, not Arby's -- I'm not that desperate yet. Went right by there the other day, couldn't bring myself to go in. But I'm pretty sure Dixie Bones is closed, so going to have to come up with a Plan B.
  11. (whimper) I just got up, and I'm hungry. (wanders off to find adequate brisket)
  12. Yeah, my solution was baggier pants with bigger pockets. It was also suggested to me to get a purse. (I'd also want to carry things like my meds in it.) Which one, Jack, this one?
  13. Hope you're feeling better, Knucks. Yeah, sorry about all the Facebook links, don't know how else to share them here. Here's one from twitter instead:
  14. I'm trying to figure out what game this is from:
  15. So...no-one? Graham, you're using a FoodSaver right now -- which model? The one that's on sale is the V3240.
  16. Dammit, couldn't bring myself to eat at Arby's, so still need brisket. And brisket fairy is not helping.
  17. Found while searching for appropriate response to "New October Daye book is out today!": Three guess what the search term was. EDIT: And one found elsewhere:
  18. Amazon's deal of the day is a food sealer -- anyone tried this particular one? http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B003U738ZE?ref_=gbsl_tit_l-1_4822_84a99c3a&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
  19. I couldn't if I wanted to -- I just woke up at 6p.m.
  20. Thanks, man!
  21. Slept mostly (that was yesterday at this point -- Monday). My sleep schedule is completely inverted at this point. Argh.
  22. Lollers @ double-post in the new software.

  24. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/business/wp/2014/08/25/the-10-meat-mountain-from-arbys-its-exactly-what-it-sounds-like/ This puts that thing I had at DuClaws to shame. The chicken tenders seem out of place. Although due to this, I just discovered that Arby's sells brisket?!?!? I know where I'm having lunch today.
