  1. Yup. But he does that. Two people -- to whom I lent the book -- stopped in the same place: at the beginning of the last act or so, which isn't anywhere near the end. One person I convinced to finish it, and the other I couldn't.
  2. Sure! As long as you don't mind if I foist some beer on you. No, not hoist, foist -- as in give you beer that I can't drink.
  3. Knucks' set from Friday night.
  4. Sympathies, Carl.
  5. ...the hell? I thought everyone loved that book (including me, not even a gamer). Not saying you're wrong, just curious what you found off-putting. Did you hate Snowcrash? Me: just finished Changes by Jim Butcher (Dresden files) -- unholy carp! That one... Also finished first installment of Indexing: Reflections by Seanan McGuire. Also started The Skies Discrowned / An Epitaph in Rust by Tim Powers.
  6. Hmmm...hadn't noticed that, you're right, it's rather 2 dimensional. Not even D'Appolito.
  7. My money's still good with them. Most guitar shops like me -- the rest at least pretend.
  8. Dew et!
  9. I came out of my first guitar less just 2 hours ago.
  10. #firstworldproblems sorted
  11. I still want one of these:
  12. (whimper) So hungry now.
  13. There is a Ned Flanders themed metal band called Okilly Dokilly
  14. Same here -- let me know if you go, I'll make the effort. I've gone to one before, they had some really nice stuff (MBL being my favourite, since I'm into omnis).
  15. That sounds delicious. I think I'm eating at NYAJ's tonight. I mean, I'd be happy with honey whiskey candied bacon alone.
  16. Argh, already expired. I was also in the "why not at that price" conflagration.
  17. The weather map that launch a thousand juvenile Facebook comments
  18. No, on the mobile version. Ah, okay, thanks.
  19. Yeah. Can't even fucking navigate this stupid...where's the fucking New Content?
  20. Tiny, self-encapsulated recording device. Sounds simple, too. Maybe it'll get me to start doing field recordings again.
