  1. I like the way you think, but ( a ) if you look in the consumerism thread, I already purchased the C-7 or whatever it's called, and ( b ) I'd be afraid I'd accidentally pick a paint that somehow interfered with RF or cooling or something else I hadn't thought of. That'd be just my luck.
  2. I should probably check my hotmail account...I do see an update to the TOU&PS, from back in June. And yes it says Outlook.com at the top, but the interface still looks like the live.com interface I was used to (which is the only one I ever use, as it's an extremely low traffic account). But unlike you, I have almost zero email coming here. Sorry, I got nuthin' useful for you.
  3. Actually, this one appears to be accurate to 0.0001" and goes to 12", so yeah, think I'm going with that one purchased. EDIT: Although one report said thousandth of an inch, which is 0.001", so might get a little more tight on the high E string, so...we'll see.
  4. Thanks. $50 and they have it in black. Purchased. Now I need a new router.
  5. Probably going with this one, yeah? EDIT: I should probably make sure it's accurate enough to differentiate between string gauges, though, so maybe not. If it's between 6-8 inches, I don't need string gauge accuracy, I need measuring tape accuracy, neh? Or will an accuracy of 0.001" make it prohibitively expensive?
  6. Thanks everyone! Good advice! No, since I'll be doing some stuff on 7- and 8- (and maybe even 9-, eventually) -string guitars, 8" sounds like a good idea.
  7. Technically, it's not water. And it's not really jacuzzi-ing, either, as that would result in more like a soup. It's like jacuzzi-ing with an hermetically sealed skinsuit. Which doesn't sound anywhere near as appealing. In fact, now it sounds more like a horror movie. "Boiled Sous vided alive!"
  8. I can stream Mixlr at work! So I'm going to listen to a bunch of Knucks' showreels.
  9. <stickler>It's not boiling meat, it's jacuzzi-ing meat.</stickler>
  10. I need a caliper for my guitar experimentation. Is there a better value out there than this one? I see this one on Amazon -- any good?
  11. Happy birthday, Antonio! (party favour noise)
  12. Bill Burr, I'm Sorry You Feel That Way -- fluctuates a little bit, but for the most part, very funny. I especially liked the shit about .22 -- I am sanctified!
  13. I do love it. I love Riverside. I was putting together a list of bands that I would like to see if they ever cross the pond: The Sirens, Pineapple Thief, Riverside, and Pain of Salvation (and I'm sure there are others). I missed Pain of Salvation -- they were actually here recently, I didn't think to look in time.
  14. I did it, I did it! Oh, and my particular venue (Canal Club in Richmond, VA, in case you want to follow along at home) is general admission, so best possible position will be obtained the night of the performance, assuming I don't forget. (I totally spaced on Calexico, after I purchased tickets.) A friend of mine made me get this (because it's such a crazy good value) -- is that the same second disk?
  15. What? No, I knew, not your fault at all, and tickets aren't sold out. I know exactly what happened: my fucking addled brain can't handle getting up from the chair to get my credit card info without forgetting by the time I get back. the farthest I've gotten is putting my wallet in front of my computer, then gone off to bed. By the time I got up the next morning, I had forgotten why the wallet was there, and not in my pocket. It's happened like 4 times so far -- JUST WITH THIS CONCERT. Okay, I'm going to post this, get up, get my wallet, and come back, so if I don't post a follow up that I actually purchased the ticket in a couple minutes...well, that's #5 then, innit? EDIT: Purchased, thanks for the prompt! EDIT #2: In the Nursery is something else entirely, try before you buy, I'm not at all promising you'll like it, it's a completely different genre of music EDIT #3: Just finished Chilly Gonzalez, Chambers, now starting Goldfrapp and friends, soundtrack to My Summer of Love.
  16. Um...(wanders off to make sure he didn't miss tickets going on sale/selling out)...
  17. Oh, okay, that makes sense. Yeah, it's an art, some of it are better than others. Some of us lose more money than others, some of us are really good at spotting the right price and not losing too much when they sell it, some of us (raises hand) forget to ever sell anything.
  18. How is spending too much money contrary to selling it? That makes no sense. You want to put more money into it? Makes even less sense. Sell it. Don't expect to get what you put into it, total, but get what you can and cut your losses
  19. Did you do it, or did you send it to someone to do it? I seriously need to do that to mine.
  20. I think she shaves her pups in summer.
  21. :/ It appears that's the only way to obtain Undercurrents, by the Will Gregory Moog Ensemble. Not joining just for one release, but considering joining...
  22. Finally finished Christopher Moore's Lamb -- that was fantastic, I knew it'd be good, but I didn't realize it'd be that good. Now on to the next Jim Butcher/Dresden Files novel. Hopefully by the time I finish that, there will be another October Daye...I also need some Tim Powers...
  23. Cheers, Vicky! Glad to see the pup is working out. Did I miss it, or are you still working on a name? She has the coloring of a Little Debbie Devil Creme sandwich, what do you think of Debbie? It doesn't sound anything like Watson or Ivan (which I think should be criteria), so there's that. I realize her colouring is going to change yet again, but 'Debbie' is a general enough name...unless of course you know someone named Debbie in real life, that would be awkward. (I have the same problem with food and Skye.)
