  1. There was still another one available (on Yahoo auctions Japan, I think) when I bought mine through Kuboten over a month ago at this point. It wasn't very expensive at all. EDIT: Well that's just silly -- it comes with a USB drive, and they only put one song on it!
  2. So apparently, they're balance-able. Set up to work with the Sony PHA-3 through....wait for it...yet another (set of) connector(s)! More words
  3. Finished listening to that (Ringo Shiina or Sheena Ringo or whatever her name is, in glorious 24/96) Now listening to Life on Mars with none other than Life on Mars
  4. (whimper)
  5. Nope, it's the same thing in 24/96. And yes, I'd be all over the same thing for Tokyo Jihen. EDIT: Actually, this is a 6-disk set, this page says contents are as follows: Innocence Moratorium + A View of Happiness (single ver.) Winning Strip + Chastity at Midnight Kalk Samen Chestnut Flower + Stem Electric Discharge & Me (2-disc set) A Song of Apples (one song) EDIT #2: Also, does yours make a cute noise and then she says something when you pull the stuff out of the box?
  6. Speaking of which, I just got the Shiina Ringo MoRA DVD boxset from Kuboten (knew exactly who it was from as soon as I saw the box).
  7. Netflix streaming. Shelly, you should be careful, though, alcohol going through your sinus passages can be painful. I still remember Louis C.K.'s "Baby's first shart" bit... Me: Lost Girl -- this is fantastic. There's some flinch-worthy writing, and there's some really wedged-in (and dutifully acted) exposition, but everything else is so good. And some of the best one-liners since Buffy. "Don't get dead." "And just like that, you're right back to being an asshole." "I hate you long time." And the sidekick just makes the show. It's the classic dynamic -- tall dark and gloomy offset by small, quirky and perky offsetting TD&G's talldarkandgloominess, except I don't think I'd watch it without her. And shome very sheckshy, downright bunkworthy...
  8. I got to ride in Jeff's new car. Hawt.
  9. Happy birthday, Ben! (party favour noise) May no more neighbors burn down your home!
  10. Hurray for not-death. Did they get the right parts? Did they not get the wrong parts? Inventory!
  11. Want 4" voice coil with 21" surround. (Also comes in 18")
  12. Chris Forsyth live gig w/free FLAC download
  13. I love you guys. (((drunken group hug)))
  14. Reminds me as a prop for the joke. Married man brings glass of water and 2 aspirin to wife. Wife: "What's this for, I don't have a headache...?" MM: "Well then..." (starts undoing his belt) I think it's from the 60s that joke, when the running gag was "not tonight, I have a headache".
  15. Hear hear! No, seriously, it doesn't really bother me that much, as long as I'm outside myself, I can laugh. Even when I get bad advice, I laugh, because I know it's bad advice (for example, when the salesperson starts telling me something that's wrong). The only time I stop laughing is when I stop getting good advice. But I persist, and I try to show that I am capable of admitting my mistakes, learning, and continue to seek truth/good information/&c. Me: Brought my teal Carvin w/floyd rose ish (licensed) trem to a guitar-playing friend of mine. "I hate floyd roses. You know how many guitars I have with a Floyd Rose? Well, one, but I never play it..." Lollers. I'll probably have to figure it out mostly on my own, but he got me started and more importantly, he showed me at least one thing I was doing wrong that could have screwed up the guitar permanently. I'm glad I stopped when I realized I didn't know what I was doing. He also gave me a nice little mini-lecture on woods and tone. Then spent the rest of the day with my sister -- we went to lunch, she gave me a haircut, we went to.a movie, interspersed with much talking. I haven't seen her in several months, so that was great.
  16. Random Leprous on YouTube -- damn! Where have they been all my life?!? Totally dig (heavy metal w/clean vocals, synthesizers, and a slight gothy tinge).
  17. Well wishes Marc! Me: I went to Island Music in La Plata. Worth it just for the lass behind the counter, had that whole indie geek girl/sex bomb thing down. But anyway: I discovered something about myself: I kind of turn into a bit of a spaz in music stores. What's up with that? I mean, part of it is the whole "shopaholic" thing, but why does it transform into being a teenager again?
  18. Yeah, that's it exactly. I didn't want to insult it, but the word "pedestrian" came to mind when I heard it. And perhaps just a little strident. Strident's too strong a word, just a little, which I'm sure could be overcome through playing. I definitely prefer that middy, lush sound. Sets it apart, in my mind.
  19. That's going to be a short setlist. I enjoyed last night's show so much, I just listened to it again.
  20. The black walnut sounds far better to my ears -- and that's coming from someone who usually can't tell the difference. To Guitar Center's credit, they found the case and are shipping it to me. I had to call, but I know how it is -- some people just can't handle email.
  21. It's happened. It's rare, but you don't want to be the one that could have prevented it with a permanent marker.
