  1. Yeah, that's it exactly. I didn't want to insult it, but the word "pedestrian" came to mind when I heard it. And perhaps just a little strident. Strident's too strong a word, just a little, which I'm sure could be overcome through playing. I definitely prefer that middy, lush sound. Sets it apart, in my mind.
  2. That's going to be a short setlist. I enjoyed last night's show so much, I just listened to it again.
  3. The black walnut sounds far better to my ears -- and that's coming from someone who usually can't tell the difference. To Guitar Center's credit, they found the case and are shipping it to me. I had to call, but I know how it is -- some people just can't handle email.
  4. It's happened. It's rare, but you don't want to be the one that could have prevented it with a permanent marker.
  5. Those are the hardest. My approach has been to get all three, with the intention of returning the two lesser, and then...keeping all three. Visually, I like the former over the latter, but only by a small margin, they're both exquisite. Definitely a no-lose choice. In the video, they're the second and the fourth, yeah? I'll listen after you respond. In other news, I bought another purple 7-string. Guitar Center sent it without the case or the original pickups which were supposed to be in the case, so it was just wrapped in bubble wrap. Which in itself is fine -- it survived the journey -- but they packed with peanuts. <monster voice> I HATE PEANUTS. </monster voice> I emailed them. That's $320 for the case and the pickups right there, if I had to replace them, which is almost half what I paid for the guitar. Expensive mistake on their part.
  6. No worries! Thanks for the assist.
  7. SPC ECO, Space and Time, Vols. 1 & 2 (compilation, separated into noisy/alternative and ambient/darkwave)
  8. Rick Miller, Breaking Point This is really good! Nice and dark with lots of minor chords and a nice back and forth between vocals and music with pretty melodies.
  9. Ah, that makes more sense, I thought I heard two different tracks between "The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove" and the Frozen Synapse track.
  10. Oh my, my dad's favourite movie was 12 Angry Men. http://www.cc.com/video-clips/a34x98/inside-amy-schumer-debating-the-dildo?xrs=synd_youtube_050415_ias_64
  11. Hey, I'm trying to figure out the track from 5/15, starts about 1:14 from the showreel. You called it "Shen's Descendant" "Nervous_Testpilot_Menu" from the "Frozen Synapse soundtrack", but when I went searching, I found this. I guess I could just listen to them both, back-to-back.
  12. Well, wait a minute, are you saying that a K1000 sounds like a HD600 sounds like a Beats sounds like an Apple earbud sounds like a Sony MDR-7506/-V6? Apologies to any of you who are prone to dizziness.
  13. That is correct, but now he'll have two! If only until he moves out of the other one.
  14. Congrats! I like the way you think -- team doesn't-fuck-around FTW!
  15. ...makes baby jesus weep. Look at the size of that ping! I must have the biggest ping here.
  16. I'm not that worried about it, but thanks. I have to admit, in hindsight, I really admire the fact that she wasn't afraid to go to a concert alone -- many people are too codependent for that (including my friend Dave with whom I went last night).
  17. Just came back from Steven Wilson -- that was fantastic. They played the entirety of Hand. Cannot. Erase. (except for Transience) interspersed with Raven, Watchmaker, Index, Harmony Korine, Lazarus, and a couple others. Lots of multimedia stuff (I'm almost at the point where I don't want to hear Raven without the video), and fantastic playing, especially by Nick Beggs and Adam Holzman. The guitarist was fantastic, and the drummer was spot on (although not Gavin...although no-one is). Darn near perfection. Slightly different setlist -- my friend in the UK went, they played the entire album first, then all the other stuff after. Here, they played up to about Home Invasion, then shifted to Index and played a bunch of other stuff, then played the rest of the album, then played Watchmaker, and then Raven as the final encore. EDIT: Didn't get the sequencing exactly right. Setlist. Really cute girl next to me, too. Alone...wearing a Marillion T-shirt (indicating that she genuinely likes prog, for those that don't know -- a genre I am very fond of). I left her alone, though, it'd probably be creepy being asked by a guy 2ce her age for her phone number...dagnabit. Sometimes I hate being me.
  18. That salmon had me drooling so hard I didn't post. I need to stop visiting this thread.
  19. Laibach posted their tour expenses breakdown: So, so did Caustic:
