This is quite fab, and great late night music. I particularly like Bollywood and Know that You Know.

I know, right? And it's not like she doesn't know what's going to happen, she's got the basic story lines written out for the next five years: I highly recommend Lost Girl in the meantime, it's vaguely October Daye ish. Except sluttier.[/Richard Castle voice] Also? Best sidekick ever.

Yeezh

No, sorry, it's pure physics. Mass requires force to move. Sure, if you have umpty times as much force as some weakling amp driving 4x12 you'll get faster, but ... there'll still be a lag, won't there? When I said "favourite" about the Krell, I meant to talk about, not to actually own or hear -- I've never heard it, and have no interest.
-
Yeah. I'm not saying you're wrong -- it's there -- I just don't hear it as pronounced as you do. Nowhere near as pronounced as you do. I wish I could find my friggin' cursed %$#@! CD3000s. I also think it has to do with the amp -- I think the NuForce is a particularly good match, because other -- better --headphones don't sound that good out of it. I'll try to spend some time listening to it out of the Oppo and other amps soonish.

Thanks for the setup, got this back on track!

David Grissom -- bluesy rock'n'roll, pretty straightforward -- any track could be used as a PRS tone exhibition. Wish the songwriting was a little stronger -- gets a little samey for my tastes. I'm sure people who appreciated the genre more would appreciate his music more. It's certainly enjoyable enough to listen to.

I have a friend who has one of those (he's kind of a self-professed magnet nut). He says he can't bring it to work. He jokes that it's because it's stuck. But he's one of those people that won't give you the real reason. Unrelated -- for some reason this made me think of this forum: -
I have failed this forum.

My favourite over-the-top subwoofer is still the Krell Master Reference -- the literature says something to the effect of "...Representing the ultimate triumph of force over area, the massive yet compact Master Reference Subwoofer houses a Krell Class A amplifier...", but I would say "the massive yet massive...".

I'm not sure I have come quite to that same conclusion (needs more time), but honestly, I can't think of anything else (that he was involved with that's better). It's more of-a-whole than even The Incident. I didn't realize there were smaller stories within the larger story until I saw the concert (and especially the video for "Routine"), but I still think the transitions (in story matter) are so smooth (and thematically consistent -- I.E. depressing as hell) as to be virtually unnoticeable. And yet I still find tracks like "Happy Returns" sublimely restorative and transcendent. And that riff in "Ancestral" just fucking rocks my world.

Baltimore? I need to get tickets...

Oh my, I lurve golliwog's cakewalk, I grew up on that piece.

I think I'll fall back on my traditional advice and suggest: try it, see if it's any good for yourself, before thinking about an upgrade.
-
No, that was exactly my point -- it's not always more trouble, sometimes it helps solve the problem.
-
Well all rooms have interference patterns, multiple subwoofers have their own interference patterns which can either counter or exacerbate the room's... Tl;dr: infinity subwoofers ftw!
-
Nice! Watching it now. Looks like they didn't intermingle as much of the non-H.C.E. material as when I saw it. This really deserves a Blu-Ray release.

Steven Wilson live stream (for the next 21 hours or so)

I don't have a keyboard amp handy, so I plugged my Prophet 6 into my PRS MDT and made some noise. I have a stupid grin stuck on my face.

They seem to be running cables, though. Solar powered?

I've had these for a couple weeks now, and have only got several dozen hours in so far, but I really like these MDR-Z7's. Without saying which is better, I'd say it's tonally closer to the R10 than the CD3000. I've been using them exclusively out of the NuForce, and I don't hear the bass bloat that purk talks about (it's not prominent, anyway -- it is slightly more bloated than the R10s [from memory], but certainly not PS1/Leatherhead/DT770 territory). They're fairly straightforward, and epitomize the boring sound that I appreciate so much ("if they sound boring to you, listen to more interesting music"). I certainly like them (from memory) better than the Focal Spirit Pros and the Shures (which both strike me as more diffuse), and do not yet have the Oppos to compare them too. They're not as good as the VTGs or the Leatherheads (which both strike me as less diffuse). They seal really well -- the earpad practically has my ear cut out of it perfectly, like they took an impression (when?!?!?). So these have become my new work phones.

And now for an abrupt change of pace (after iamthemorning):
