  1. Hurray for not-death. Did they get the right parts? Did they not get the wrong parts? Inventory!
  2. Want 4" voice coil with 21" surround. (Also comes in 18")
  3. Chris Forsyth live gig w/free FLAC download
  4. I love you guys. (((drunken group hug)))
  5. Reminds me as a prop for the joke. Married man brings glass of water and 2 aspirin to wife. Wife: "What's this for, I don't have a headache...?" MM: "Well then..." (starts undoing his belt) I think it's from the 60s that joke, when the running gag was "not tonight, I have a headache".
  6. Hear hear! No, seriously, it doesn't really bother me that much, as long as I'm outside myself, I can laugh. Even when I get bad advice, I laugh, because I know it's bad advice (for example, when the salesperson starts telling me something that's wrong). The only time I stop laughing is when I stop getting good advice. But I persist, and I try to show that I am capable of admitting my mistakes, learning, and continue to seek truth/good information/&c. Me: Brought my teal Carvin w/floyd rose ish (licensed) trem to a guitar-playing friend of mine. "I hate floyd roses. You know how many guitars I have with a Floyd Rose? Well, one, but I never play it..." Lollers. I'll probably have to figure it out mostly on my own, but he got me started and more importantly, he showed me at least one thing I was doing wrong that could have screwed up the guitar permanently. I'm glad I stopped when I realized I didn't know what I was doing. He also gave me a nice little mini-lecture on woods and tone. Then spent the rest of the day with my sister -- we went to lunch, she gave me a haircut, we went to.a movie, interspersed with much talking. I haven't seen her in several months, so that was great.
  7. Random Leprous on YouTube -- damn! Where have they been all my life?!? Totally dig (heavy metal w/clean vocals, synthesizers, and a slight gothy tinge).
  8. Well wishes Marc! Me: I went to Island Music in La Plata. Worth it just for the lass behind the counter, had that whole indie geek girl/sex bomb thing down. But anyway: I discovered something about myself: I kind of turn into a bit of a spaz in music stores. What's up with that? I mean, part of it is the whole "shopaholic" thing, but why does it transform into being a teenager again?
  9. Yeah, that's it exactly. I didn't want to insult it, but the word "pedestrian" came to mind when I heard it. And perhaps just a little strident. Strident's too strong a word, just a little, which I'm sure could be overcome through playing. I definitely prefer that middy, lush sound. Sets it apart, in my mind.
  10. That's going to be a short setlist. I enjoyed last night's show so much, I just listened to it again.
  11. The black walnut sounds far better to my ears -- and that's coming from someone who usually can't tell the difference. To Guitar Center's credit, they found the case and are shipping it to me. I had to call, but I know how it is -- some people just can't handle email.
  12. It's happened. It's rare, but you don't want to be the one that could have prevented it with a permanent marker.
  13. Those are the hardest. My approach has been to get all three, with the intention of returning the two lesser, and then...keeping all three. Visually, I like the former over the latter, but only by a small margin, they're both exquisite. Definitely a no-lose choice. In the video, they're the second and the fourth, yeah? I'll listen after you respond. In other news, I bought another purple 7-string. Guitar Center sent it without the case or the original pickups which were supposed to be in the case, so it was just wrapped in bubble wrap. Which in itself is fine -- it survived the journey -- but they packed with peanuts. <monster voice> I HATE PEANUTS. </monster voice> I emailed them. That's $320 for the case and the pickups right there, if I had to replace them, which is almost half what I paid for the guitar. Expensive mistake on their part.
  14. No worries! Thanks for the assist.
  15. SPC ECO, Space and Time, Vols. 1 & 2 (compilation, separated into noisy/alternative and ambient/darkwave)
  16. Rick Miller, Breaking Point This is really good! Nice and dark with lots of minor chords and a nice back and forth between vocals and music with pretty melodies.
  17. Ah, that makes more sense, I thought I heard two different tracks between "The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove" and the Frozen Synapse track.
  18. Oh my, my dad's favourite movie was 12 Angry Men. http://www.cc.com/video-clips/a34x98/inside-amy-schumer-debating-the-dildo?xrs=synd_youtube_050415_ias_64
  19. Hey, I'm trying to figure out the track from 5/15, starts about 1:14 from the showreel. You called it "Shen's Descendant" "Nervous_Testpilot_Menu" from the "Frozen Synapse soundtrack", but when I went searching, I found this. I guess I could just listen to them both, back-to-back.
  20. Well, wait a minute, are you saying that a K1000 sounds like a HD600 sounds like a Beats sounds like an Apple earbud sounds like a Sony MDR-7506/-V6? Apologies to any of you who are prone to dizziness.
  21. That is correct, but now he'll have two! If only until he moves out of the other one.
