It was Sheena Ringo's birthday Wednesday (11/24), and I've been on a Tokyo Incidents kick, so I celebrated her birthday by listening to メートル法のたわごとトン of her solo music, not unlike I realize no-one cares, but I got her birthday wrong, it was the 25th.

Happy belated birthday!

Earlier: Cheese, shrimp cocktail, salmon, ham, turkey leg, mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoes, green beans, gravy, pumpkin cheesecake, almond meringues. Just had a little bit of everything, spent quite a bit of time at the table, taking tiny helpings every once in a while, but it's still the most I've eaten in one sitting. Now: (erp)

Kudos to Adele for making Spotify remove the "shuffle" album default (which stung me more times than I care to admit). I meant to listen to her to reward her efforts. Now if Spotify would just pay the artists more, that would be better. Centipede steps. Me: Organ Freeman (LOL)

Wow, two genius moments in one day! Noice!

This one hurts. I'm a huge fan of the band, and two of my best friends IRL are two of the band's biggest fans, and we were just talking about him/them on Thursday, the day before the accident, anticipating a North American tour: https://www.loudersound.com/news/big-big-train-singer-david-longdon-dead-at-56

Day 1 of this year's Progspace Online Festival -- some really great lesser known prog metal acts playing, have been enjoying so far, recommended if you're alright with fuzzy guitars and harsh vocals and complicated music.

Well, she went ahead and bought the Rancilio combination, and I agree with her reasoning -- it's not just for herself, as she will be able to serve it to clients, so will also be able to write it off on taxes.

Happy birthday, JP!

Listening to this now, this might be my favourite album from either artist individually, and I am a fan of both. I mean, I am literally giggling in how great it is. And apparently there was a blood moon last night.

Me n+1! Additionally, they promised to give my favourite band every month 10% of my fee -- that's like $1.50, which is about $1.50 more (with rounding) than they're getting from Spotify, as I tend to listen to some very underground bands. https://tidal.com/formusic?showLove=true&crm=true Just decided to keep Tidal, if for nothing else, for that. Of course, in April, that'll probably be Kylie Minogue, but that's okay.

Thoughts on Rancilio Silvia espresso machine? Are there better (or as good) machines that are cheaper? Rocky grinder? Niche is cheaper, so is Niche the d-_-b recommendation? Asking for a friend...in the UK, so yeah, maybe imaginary friend, but pretty sure she's real.

Yeah, I listened to ERR all in one sitting, it was sublime. Re: Aimee Mann -- oh. She's settled into a nice comfy singer-songwriter niche, which I find worth listening to once in a while, but if she's not your thing, don't force yourself. I thought I remembered you liking her. Only semi-unrelated: really looking forward to Chelsea Wolfe/Converge

New Bent Knee, Frosting. Not sure what to make of it. Not sure I ever will. I kinda like about half of it, but I fricking hate the hyperpop stuff -- the autotune and fucked up vocal modulation stuff, that just sounds like children playing with toys. I just don't get it. This is one of the better tunes: You're welcome! Did you see there's a new Aimee Mann as well?

Listening to the new Emma Ruth Rundle, Engine of Hell -- unlike anything she's ever done before. Beautiful acoustic slowcore, very minimalist, raw production.
