  1. I actually own that on DVD. I really liked it! Fortunately, they only did the first three books. Before things got really weird.
  2. Argh, I meant subs. I mix up "neck" and "bridge", too. DERP
  3. Always liked that album. Me: some Rush, some other stuff, but mostly new to me hard rock band, In Search Of Sun. Really digging this. Hard rock is the sweet spot for me.
  4. No shit! That was new information to me, thanks for sharing. And it is pretty cool. I must usually watch subs dubs, because it set me to sub dub.
  5. More Nando's-at-home. Today's flavour is Coconut Milk & Lemon. Had chicken thighs earlier -- added some of the garlic flavour on top after it was done cooking, but while it was still in the oven. Had a delicious, vaguely Thai curry flavour to it. Now making fish, but with just the coconut milk & lemon this time, I think.
  6. Yeah, finished watching the whole thing a couple weeks ago. BRUTAL! WRT both violence and emotion. I really dug the highly stylized visual presentation, the soundtrack, and the premise. So many great moments, I can't pick just one.
  7. Happy birthday, Steve! (party favour noise)
  8. Apparently, Korean supernatural/science fiction/fantasy procedural…somethings are a thing. Black, Sisyphus, Rugal are three I’m watching.
  9. I had vindaloo earlier. It was delicious. They also had something called "Missile Naan" which was naan with green chiles and garlic.
  10. Happy belated birthday! (party favour noise)
  11. Speaking of covers albums, did you know that the Metallica Blacklist is over 4 hours long? FOUR. FREAKING. HOURS. I have not yet been able to bring myself to do it. Today, though, a couple of good albums that stand out: Prog: In Disequilibrium by Isildur's Bane and Peter Hammill -- very much enjoyed, goes from spacy to Peter Hammill's particular brand of eclecticism with contemporary production values. Highly enjoyed, going to make my end of the year list. Electronic/dub: Tauk, Chaos Companion -- very much a vibe, and very much an enjoyable vibe
  12. Spiral Architect, A Sceptic's Universe -- ridiculously over-the-top technical metal
  13. Yello 40 Years -- I actually got the (slightly less) recent box set, but don't have all the variety of players it entails (shiny disk, analog disk, analog tape, &c.), so since this new-ish one is now available on Tidal...listening to this on Tidal. Because priorities.
  14. Tonio K., Life in the Foodchain for some reason.
  15. Oh, man, Knucks is going to be devastated.
  16. Condolences to both of youse.
  17. Subtitled. Although in general, I'm agnostic, unless the dub is particularly annoying (Wasabi comes to mind). I was just lazy, and allowed the default. If you can imagine a "Battle Royale" type scenario where the players volunteer to play, for various reasons (mostly escape from financial ruin). Writer/director Dong-hyuk Hwang is a visionary. Highly stylized sets being the most obvious example in Squid Game. I will definitely be checking their other stuff out. Jung Jaeil (he of Parasite fame) provides the perfect soundtrack. Episode, "Gganbu", was particularly unnervingly emotional.
  18. Had a long "chips vs. fries vs. crisps" discussion on another (Brit-centric) server, and pretty much everyone enjoyed my Strange-Planet-inspired nomenclature, "heated potato sticks".
  19. Squid Game -- that's some fucked up shit right there
  20. https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-29661446.amp Thank you, Scotland.
  21. Condolences, Craig. My Bobby doesn't have long, and I bemoan the day I lose him.
