Oh my, it's sillyhuge™. It'll fit in well with my other sillyhuge things -- 30 inch 2560x1600 monitor, Invicta and Nixon watches, and... ...and... (scratches head) That's about all I can think of...er...that's about all of which I can think. Alright, maybe my bass cab.

Yeah, well, they were closed by the time I got out of the house. As a matter of fact, my only choices were Wegmans and Target, so I had to settle, but I did find one that was digitally controlled, so I should be alright for the foreseeable future. I will eventually get a Zojirushi. But I'll probably still stop by CostCo tomorrow, I need to stop by there anyway. The latter being Miss Cayman, who is competing for Miss Universe, and was not dressed like that at the time.
-
Thanks, I'll stop by CostCo. I actually haven't been able to leave the apartment, waiting for my Samsung Galaxy Note II to arrive. Fucking FedEx.

Very cool -- it doesn't boil, just bring the water up to the appropriate temperature? That would be perfect for me.

Switching to art rock for a bit: Black Noodle Project, Ready to Go, and Wolverine, Communication Lost I like their original music, but that cover of Faith No More's "From Out of Nowhere" was kind of awful.
-
Yeah, I wish, but I live in an apartment.

Actually, it can look very artificial, but doesn't necessarily have to. It depends on the algorithm used to generate the data between the two actual frames. Some are better than others. It's analogous to upsampling. Just a minor quibble -- otherwise everything that's been said are all good points.

I blew up my electric kettle. Overfilled it on the previous fill, brought it to a boil. Poured it into the clothes washer (was trying to sterilize my pillows). Filled it less high but still almost full, set it to boil. Next thing I know, I hear an electric "pfff...", I turn around, and the cord is on fire next to the socket. I of course pulled it out and put it out. I'm presuming I did something to the element such that it was sucking too high a current, and no breakers threw, and the fire happened at the point of least resistance (and therefore most heat)? Wouldn't mind knowing exactly what happened, as I don't understand it. Did it arc? I do know enough not to do that again, and will be purchasing a new electric kettle in the morning, and making a mental note not to overfill it again. But I wouldn't mind being reassured that it was indeed my fault, rather than it just failing in some random fashion sped up by my actions, as I do walk away from the electric kettle all the time. Is it Zojirushi time?

Not at all -- I'd rather have a decent TV with 60Hz, than some mediocre model with 120Hz or whatever. You will be lucky if you can see the difference. If you're concerned, go to a store and compare side-by-side. Size is irrelevant, so much as content (action, sports, esp. high-res).

That's some serious fucking English.

Well, I've got a Samsung Galaxy Note II and Nexus 10 both coming, so we'll see about Spotify, but Animoog doesn't exist for Android. Another complication is the connector.

I liked the second song more than the first one, but neither more than my previous favorites by them. Like you said -- not really fair to judge based on such little material. But I loved the clip for no other reason than the tour announcement at 2:00.

It's mostly for Spotiy and the Moog app, I think, but who knows, might play the occasional game. And yes, I believe density is the same, since it's just longer, I probably should have said 'real estate whore', rather than 'pixel whore', since the latter is too close to 'pixel density whore'. And yes, I'm all three. Engraving also makes it harder to steal.
-
You know, it just registered that my eventual purchase of the iTouch has just been confused -- do I get the new 1136x640 version, being the pixel whore that I am, or do I get the older 960x640 version which is on limited discount, and save $170 (US$399 vs. US$229)? The old one only had a single core, no? I mean, those extra 112,640 pixels probably aren't worth $170, but that extra core might be. I'm comparing 64GB version to 64GB version. Comparing 32GB to 32GB, the difference falls to $120. I also lose the possibility of engraving. I think I just convinced myself -- I think I'll wait and get the new one.

Nice. I really like the height you gave that beyond the top of the lamppost -- gives it a very expansive feel.
-
Nice. You know you did good when your gift gets stolen even once.

The Faint, Danse Macabre, Deluxe Edition -- such a perfect album, from beginning to end. Groovy retro synthpop with guitar, dark lyrics.

I don't think Kevin ordered nuthin' -- that's just Birgir's annual vig.

I'm already on Spotify premium -- it's worth every penny.

My ex used to work for a company that had a similar variant to the use-or-lose vacation plan -- namely, because they were a cafeteria style plan, they would automatically convert the vacation you'd lose to cash. She was smart enough to realize that they charge you for the time at your pre-raise rate, but pay you back at the end of the year at your post-raise rate, so she always bought (under the cafeteria plan) the max vacation allowable -- it was like automatically getting raise% return on your investment. Is that the case with you, Vicki?
-
Congrats on the raise. Yay for raises.

Disagree -- it depends on the amplification. They do scale -- and that means both ways -- if they sound better with better amplification, then they don't sound as good with not as good amplification I really wish the article had mentioned how he amped them. That said, I heard them amped really well recently, and I had forgotten how good they can sound.

Unholy carp, congrats, the future Dr. Crappy Jones!
