I don't know, I'm not a lawyer. I mean it's your fault in as much as you trusted the airlines and stuck your plug in their jack; but in your defense, unless there's some sort of crossover, even their headphones should not have been able to handle DC offset -- it would have fried theirs too.
I would like to say now -- so that I can say I told you so later -- that I predict Apple will issue an update that will lock out using the camera kit for anything other than its intended use.
And then we will hear a lot of groaning.
I'm with GPH on Mastodon -- they did nothing for me.
Sorry if that lowers GPH's cool quotient.
I have somewhere down around #487 on my list of things to do before I die to give them another chance.
Me: Listened to the entirety of Feed To Feed. Fuckgoddamnyeah. I cannot think of a better way to spend 3-4 hours. Oh, wait, yes I can. But it's up there.
Also forgot: really dig Throes of Dawn. RIYL more recent Katatonia, more recent Amorphis, any Blue Oyster Cult.
I still say HP Firebird -- prices are down -- eCost refurb for $700 as an example.
I mean, I'd have trouble putting together a (fanless) system for $700, but the technology is a little old at this point. Still very good (1333 FSB), just not current.
EDIT: Oops, not sure about the HDMI part.
Online? Your best bet is G-Street Fabrics (near Montrose and 355). Go rifle through some of their odds-and-ends tables. Then you can feel them for yourself.
I saw that and passed on it -- on the one hand, it seems ginormous, but it's "only" 53mm (comparable to the Venom, but not as tall), but the thing I have absolutely no need for is three fucking movements with separate crowns.
That said, if I win the lottery, then I'd get it anyway.
Oceansize, Feed to Feed -- fucking rocking my world. British (Manchester, to be specific), epic, somewhat proggy, but more space rock/post-alternative/post-rock, somewhat Britpoppy, lots of atmospherics, lots of rocking the big chords, totally dig.
I think the rule of thumb is, the more recently it's been released, the more likely it is to be high-def.
And no, you don't need to do anything special to get high-def.
