Pfff. Although it has been more than weekly since I discovered it, but I don't think I'm going back for at least two weeks.

Beer. No watch; huzzah. Really liked that Oak-aged Imperial Stout from Left Hand, so I went back down to Once Upon A Vine and bought them out (6 bottles). Also found some other stuff that looked interesting, and was talked into buying a $2+ bottle of Polish something by the proprietor's wife. Let's put it this way -- the spontaneous discount that he gave me more than covered the cost of this. I am definitely going to make this a monthly sojourn. Alright, maybe not monthly, as I am probably covered for the next year, but ...some regular interval. Quarterly? PS Was just taking inventory -- a couple of interesting things obtained: Oak-Aged Arrogant Bastard; Sam Adams Choco Bock (dammit, forgot to check the alcoholic content, and I just read something about "extreme beer"); Left Hand Rye Bock Lager; Stone 13th Anniversary; some Maple something...fading...

What is it good for?

Oh, that would fucking rock. for me.

Re: bolded portion -- yeah, I misspoke if I said anything to the contrary -- I totally agree with that. But the clock in the DAC -- unless ASYNC, or buffered and reclocked somehow -- is usually just a PLL on the clock on the input signal, so the statement should go something like "...it would depend somewhat if your transport has a good clock etc. to begin with..." -- that's my stance, anyway. The whole premise of going async is to circumvent this limitation.

No, leave it be. The only time floating the ground would probably* sound better is if one or the other is doing something odd, and you would have heard that immediately. * With the exceptions of magical fairies farting pixie dust in your cables right in the middle of you building them.

I Nurse With Wound unnaturally.

Thirded, and the motion carries. Me: catching up on some Human Target recently. I have to admit to liking the good stuff, a lot.

So do any of these have hard compartments to protect the iPad, or is it supposed to prevent its own torque? The reason I ask is, I'd be interested in getting something similar, with a compartment for my Kindle DX, which is similarly sized, but I'm worried about torque.

Apple. I love apples.

Jitter reduction, not rejection -- without buffering and reclocking, one can only reduce jitter, not eliminate it. Async done well could easily better that. Under the assumption that you can hear jitter, etc., blah blah blah.

It's 6 years old for a reason, don't waste your liver on that. -

It is not the time to move on to the good stuff, no.* * Don't know if Aquavit is considered good stuff, so I may or may not have answered your question. On an unrelated note: -

Oh. You're right. I guess I don't know what a schwarzbier is. I just read the description on ratebeer, and it pretty much describes the Shiner. And the Session. Maybe I just don't like schwarzbier. -

It's not a Schwarzbier, it's a lager, it just has "black" in the name, which is as far as I'm taking tonight's motif. That said -- noted, will hunt some down. And: you're right. Bohemian? Check. Lager? Check. Black? Wait, whut? Oh, you mean the label... Okay, kind of lightweight, kind of good, but nothing special, will not buy more. On to: Full Sail Session Black -- another lager. More of the same, but better. Added a note of...can't place it. Nitrous? Not sure. Doesn't have the little shaker thingy, I don't think. It's okay, but again -- will probably not buy more. -

I declare today's theme to be "black" -- starting with Shiner Black Bohemian Lager. -
You think telling Nate you don't care about being called on something is going to make people think less of Nate? Really? Well...good luck with that. [/teh sarcasm]

Ah. Fucking distributors. Someone needs to challenge the laws based on "inability to pursue happiness" and take the unconstitutionality all the way to the top. -
Yes, it was sold out at the distributors, but I hadn't yet given up on (a) retailer(s) having remaining stock, and I found one (through ratebeer.com -- great site!). They actually still had some when I left, and I'm probably going back for the Oak-aged Imperial Stout (can't seem to find it anywhere else, even through ratebeer.com, which doesn't even list them as having any), unless Total Wine or someshit can order some for me...but not sure I want a case this time -- I now have a case of: Sierra Nevada's 30th Vol. 1, Bashah, and Fade To Black -- I think I'm set for a while. Might try Whole Foods to see if they will order some for me. Oh, and as to where -- fucking Richmond (fucking, in this case, regarding the distance). Once Upon a Vine South. Cute asian chick works there, though, so not sorry I went. Will probably check out the other store, too.

USB DAC or USB to SPDIF Converter - recommendations
Dusty Chalk replied to faust3d's topic in Home Source Components
I use: Musical Fidelity X-CANv8p -- includes both headphone amp (medium -- somewhere between an iPod out and a Beta22) and attenuate pre outs. Am happy with the DAC aspect, but I haven't even heard an Ayre. -
Indeed I did. Posting what I wrote you here for others:

Happy belated!
