  1. Uh, no. That's just marketing propaganda -- the output of any but incorrectly designed CD players should filter that signal, and it should never look like juxtapozed square waves. If one were to compare the filtered signals of each, they'd be much closer.
  2. Actually, you can do that. It's called "there's only so many molecules of air".
  3. When I listen to their stuff on random, it really doesn't matter. I like it all. Although I have to admit that when I get to a favourite track (Falling/Falling Again/Senzafine/&c.), I do get particularly excited.
  4. Just for the record, I didn't mean to imply it was in the source material -- it could be anywhere in the signal chain.
  5. 260 is a great price for that.
  6. Those BillyBags shelves look great, though.
  7. Yeah, that would be called "compression".
  8. Aren't you a programmer? Csound
  9. No, they used to be mindful wanking.
  10. No Dollhouse this week.
  11. Jesus christ that's gorgeous -- corner loading and what looks like at least partially to be transmission line.
  12. I thought it was difficult because the drivers are particularly prone to damage due to inadequate heatsinking during the soldering process. I presume they still sound okay?
  13. Well, rebooting is a little easier -- just hold down the top button for a while (no cradle necessary). Should give you the "slide to confirm" window...circling ellipses for a second or two...and then down. Then hold down the top button for a while again, and it should come up. I presume you tried that. The point was not correcting you, nor ojnihs (well yeah, but not really), but so that anyone else who was following along at home didn't feel like they had to do all that every time they just wanted to reboot. It's wireless, has multiple connectivities, and if there's a network burp in mid protocol, could possibly act like any other machine and hang on that -- that's my theory, anyway.
  14. That's not rebooting, that's resetting. Puts it into maintenance mode.

  16. OSI, Blood -- could be the best thing they've done.

    What is that for, TrueBlood?
  18. Quad -- possibly...I have to pull my GW Labs power amp out of mothballs and see what combination it takes...I seem to remember it taking a variety of power tubes, EL34 or KTxx somethings, don't remember...
  19. Nope, (up to) 24/96 pure and true.
  20. I really like that room treatment there between the two speakers on the floor. Oh, and nice view!
  21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xpcpqz6jGig The pig is like nature's alchemist.
  22. Ah, you are explaining why the question wasn't asked before. Got it. I can be so slow sometimes.
  23. Well I obviously needed to ask...
