Bluetooth, huh? Now that's innovative. I wonder if you can zap it files from your iPhone and it will play them?

Well, I'm a big SP apologist, but even I won't go against the grain and say that there isn't something wrong going on, business-wise. He needs to drop everything (figuratively), and start fixing things and filling orders, starting with the oldest ones first. I actually understand (though do not approve) of the false promises -- I've done the same thing myself. If you make a promise to meet a deadline out loud to someone else, you're more likely to make it then if you just set yourself an internal deadline. Of course, once you start breaking them, the others start being easier to break as well, that's when you fall down the downward spiral that appears to be happening with SP. I really hope he repairs his business before he goes completely under.

Jesus Christ, don't give them any ideas.

What did you do today?
Laundry. Was supposed to do some work-work, but (a) it was just too fucking hot (A/C broke), and ( for some reason, my laptop appears to be running at IPV6, and so it doesn't appear to be talking to my VMWare appliances ... or at least, I think that's the problem, I may just be having connectivity issues...anyone know how to update debian to ipv6?

Dali
I've heard a few, but they have so many lines, it's hard to say. They're like Focal -- they have what seem to be a lot of quality products at many price points. I'd say they're worth checking out. PS I read the same review.

I can't believe no-one has posted this yet: Dew et. It's like, the second unofficial head-case greeting.

I guess I better go read the head-fi thread -- sounds like there's more people flying in than just you two, huh?

Okay, I wasn't sure you had communicated with him, and since I knew what was going on for a change, I thought I'd volunteer the information.

My two? I only have the 3910. Hirsch has a 2900 that I could probably listen to any time I want, but I've never done an A/B comparison, and they're different mods done by different people (my 3910 is modded by SACDMods and is solid state; Hirsch's 2900 is modded by...Exemplar? Modwright? I forget...but it's tube-based...). Your best bet (if you can afford to front the money) is to buy both on the used market at prices at which you can afford to flip them, do your own comparisons within your own system (because you're getting to the point where the differences will be system-dependent), and sell the one you like less (or relegate it to a less important system). The advantage of this scheme is that it doesn't need to be done all at once -- you can buy that 3910 now, and get the 2900 later when you can afford it. You'll probably be fine with the 3910 for a long time. We're talking incremental improvements of one over the other.

Hirsch won't know until the day of, whether or not he's coming. He's got a big pen thing he's preparing for. I think he's slowly abandoning us headphone-people. (Or at least it's slowly taking a further and further back seat.)

Ipod Touch / Iphone
I think the intention was same settings to same settings (I.E. probably with everything turned off). IIRC, he did both idle and with calls, but didn't do anything else that required lots of battery juice. Maybe he did browsing, I honestly don't recall, and don't feel like watching it again to find out. It's publicly available on apple, will post link later if I find it. It also 'advertised' the faster download speeds.

Ipod Touch / Iphone
That's funny, because at the Steve-talk, he explicitly made claims that they improved battery life.

Just FYI -- yes, we're harsh, but I mean, c'mon, you posted a bunch of ass. es. You ever think maybe working your way up to it?

2008 Mid-Year Report...
Hot Chip, Made in the Dark To some, this might blend in with a bunch of others of similar ilk, but what makes it stand out to me is the variety. They experiment, and have fun while doing so. Autechre, Quaristice First Autechre record I've liked in a long time, really dig this. In the experimental electronic genre. The Last Shadow Puppets, The Age of the Understatement I just really like the songwriting on this. A little bit old school (like older Scott Walker), but not as old school as She & Him. A few more potentials: Black Mountain, In the Future 5ive, Hesperus Goldfrapp, Seventh Tree Gutter Twins, Saturnalia Kills, Midnight Boom Magnetic Fields, Distortion Mars Volta, The Bedlam in Goliath She & Him, Volume One Virgin Black, Requiem: Fortissimo

Hey, Vicki, here's another suggestion, there's a really nice vegetarian restaurant only 22 minutes away from BWI, if you want to grab a meal and dawdle for a while. I'm sure you're going to want to grab at least one meal somewhere along the way, either straight off the plane or later.
