  1. I feel sorry for Todd and I am sure he will make this right, but seriously, this is ridiculous........these things look like they have been through a war .
  2. Man am I glad I didn't set up ASRs amp while I had it here
  3. Thanks I will check that out. That sounds like a plausible cause for the sound. The HE90 does not make the sound so it is probably the SR-Omega themselves.
  4. My SR-Omega seems to have developed a very soft clicking noise in the right driver which comes and goes. Can be heard in soft passages. I do not hear it in the HE90 so far, so not the amp or tubes I guess? Please tell me this is not the driver failing. Maybe dust?
  5. Haven't you been spewing negativity about them for months now or hopping on the negative bandwagon whenever it drives by? And you haven't even heard them . STFU until you do. Then please feel free to say all the negative you want. Nobody gives a huge shit really, we all have different ears.
  6. That is just awesome news Al. Any word on how Neil is faring?
  7. $40 seems very reasonable for shipping to the bottom of the Earth.
  8. Yes, to more Angelenos! (as long as you're not a Bruin)
  9. Have you ever been to a gang-infested neighborhood, not really an action-movie vibe.
  10. When i used to work with adolescent gang members I listened for awhile. But i noticed how the violent lyrics affected me in a negative manner and stopped.
  11. Got 10 new SACDs in the mail today!
  12. Thanks Kevin. I would also like to offer up my amp as a working one so that measurements could be taken, etc. If this would help nail down the design I am willing. We just need to find someone local with the skills as I am probably not the one. However, if it is not that difficult maybe I could learn. I think I have the measuring devices here.
  13. Is the schematic the same for the ES-2, mine specifically. I would really like a schematic so I can give it to a local tech when I need repairs or to just fix up the scary parts.
  14. This looks promising for leads: Bay Area Audio Residential Design Center - About Us Audible Arts - High End Audio These places do repairs: Home True Sound - Bay Area High End Audio Repair Service by Nick Gowan
  15. Blackie was a nice guy and he fixed my amp but it was not painless. He took awhile until I paid his rush fee and then he returned it with the volume knobs all out of whack and a replacement bias knob which looks ridiculous. I did not ask him to change the knob, just tighten the one that was there. It also seemed like he didn't want to get too dep into the project, he has plenty of guitar amp repair business.
  16. Al, PS opens from the top probably. Definitely the side without a lot of screws.
  17. Al, sorry about the amp. My advice would be to look for a local tech, I am sure there are many. I would look at a local high-fi shop. Some have repairmen. I used one at a place called Brooks Berdan (here in LA) once for the Audio Note. My amps seem ok (fingers crossed). I do however have one casualty, the HE90 gets static on the right side when i jiggle the wire going into the connector (amp side). I guess several people were wondering why it is folded in half entering the connector and were trying to fix it.
  18. You may send me the Aristaeus to help you decide, it's all right .
  19. Have any of you heard of or used this place? I guess it's in Vietnam. The guy has some ridiculous nice tubes but his prices are outrageous. Audiophile I would love some of those metal base sylvania 6SN7s . Doubtful i would make the leap though.
  20. I agree with both of these guys. I think i am gonna get an HF2.
