EAC used to crash quite regularly for me - only software that ever has done so on this otherwise rock solid laptop. Perhaps it just didn't like the external drive I was using, perhaps it was an unstable build I was using. Still dbpoweramp has been rock solid, so that's just my experiences.

Is it actually a different encoder? In any case, the interface for dbpoweramp's batch encoder is pretty powerful. Indeed the whole package is well worth the money - far more robust/stable than EAC for ripping as well.

The high res screen is pretty freaking impressive...... ...... but bloody awful bull-marketing in the name - retina display?!?

As a home rig with a high end DAC I could absolutely see the benefit. But this does seem geared towards still being portable which seems like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Well, the proof will be in the listening......

I think it is a serious concern that everything is done entirely digitally. If an analogue input needs to be ADCed, then DSPed, then DACed, then amped...... that is an awful lot of conversion going on, and a lot of faith put in the DAC they are using.
