  1. Isn't that the same shit that Microsoft has been criticised for over the last decade? Bad, bad thing to break the web standards.
  2. EH?
  3. So is this preamp in question balanced or bridged?
  4. That doesn't apply to the bridged amps common to us though, does it? Consider a 'balanced' B22...... it should have the ground/pin1 from the balanced interconnect connected to the signal ground on the boards. Signal ground can then be connected to the chassis through a ground loop breaker.
  5. That thing is seriously calling out for a couple of shaft extension kits......
  6. This thread is almost as exciting as waiting for iPodbfhdh to post new pictures of chassis feet
  7. I can see it pretty easily now that it is separated from the baffle...... the front dust cover on the bad driver is really loose and floppy. By gently blowing on it I can hear it 'flapping in the breeze' (this was probably the crackling noise), and I wouldn't be surprised if it was loose enough to be able to touch the front stator. I'm almost positive that dust would have been able to get in as well.
  8. Spent six hours at work Got home, and installed new drivers in my SR-Lambda - which fixed all of the problems I was having with them. Finally I can relax and comfortably listen to the fruits of my DIY labor...... Buffalo->Exstata->Lambda and some Gotan Project is just beautfiul
  9. New drivers in my Lambdas fixed all of my issues...... YAY! I can't believe those little buggers, just sitting round in a cupboard for the last 25 years, can still sound so damn good.
  10. A good headphone buddy from back in Australia sent them over. Apparently, he originally got them from thrice right here on Head Case, but never got round to using them. [EDIT] http://www.head-case.org/forums/audio-gear-sale/3408-ic-stax-lambda-drivers.html
  11. NOS Lambda normal bias drivers. Minty fresh!
  12. Surely a Stax headphone cable of some sort would be your best bet?

    I wasn't, but I am now!
  17. Whatever happened to -=her=-? I expected her to try and make a spectacular comeback, and fail miserably......

The problem with audiophile grade wireless headphones, is how do you plan to fit half of a B52 in each earcup?

Apparently, the airports were both hit severely as well. All power, land and air comms are down......

Not snow, but my hometown of Perth, Australia got hit by a massive freak storm yesterday. Hail stones the size of golf balls. My old uni was very heavily hit, as was the nearby neighbourhood that my unit is in (which we are renting out). I hope the unit is OK, because I can't afford to repair anything that insurance doesn't cover...... The hall at my old uni. Original >100yr old stained glass windows decimated. And a flooded library. A street near my unit. That is probably a foot of water, which is COMPLETELY unheard of in this part of the world.
  24. The dog shot is fantastic
  25. MOT MOT MOT MOT I can confirm that these kick arse, and make for a stunning front panel. Grab them while they're hot!
