You'll find a pair of sr225s used more easily than sr60s, and they resell quickly. So they're almost no risk at all. And watch for a bit and you can generally find them for $150 with flats, or $140 without.
I'd recommend getting 225s if you can find them used and afford it. Those are the easiest to resell, and are, in my opinion, the sweet spot in the lineup.
There should be a review (or at least extended impression) coming of the exemplar 2900 + BHSE + O2 from the DC meet on Aug 2.
That source, if you don't like it, should be easy to resell.
Don't sweat the small stuff, it's music, enjoy it.
Lots of things are expensive just to be exclusive. Some people like paying for exclusivity. Who's to say they're wrong to do so, if it makes them happy?
It's all a matter of scale. If you don't like the price, don't pay it. If a buyer and seller come to an arrangement, and it's more than you'd pay, that doesn't make the seller a con artist.
