I am thinking of replacing my old Nikon D80 with a Samsung NX1 and the 16-50 f/2-2.8 ED OIS lens. For the price the NX1 looks pretty hard to beat and from what I have read Samsung plans to keep it up to date for a while with firmware upgrades. Any suggestions before I pull the trigger? Only negative that I can see is the only fully functionally lenses available are Samsung lenses.

Happy birthday Fitz! Like a friend just told me, 40 is now the new late 30s.

My local PX has a Omega 2225.80.00 Seamaster that was a special order and returned. Bracelet is small and would need some links. PX is a authorized dealer and it has the warranty card. They are asking $2800 and I might be able to talk them down a bit. Sound like a decent deal or a pass? What do links cost?

I have never seen any sort of discharge from a lithium battery or heard of any. They are the primary type of battery used in military equipment from crypto memory, to gps, to flashlights.Think harsh environments with continual vibration and large temperature swings. More likely paint or metal dust from the contacts. When in doubt toss and replace.

I think I might just say f'it and find one I actually like and buy myself a birthday gift. I guess the best thing to do is visit a Omega dealer and find what size I like and then work a good deal on ebay?

Hmmm didn't realize this watch stuff was so complicated. I know it was services last year. I'll have to ask about the other stuff. Any idea on value if they are original?
