I love me the McCormacks. If mine had been a MID (which was what it was advertised as) instead of and MHD, Jim may have been McCormackless.

It is cool now in Chicago. I will be wearing shorts and Keen sandals but that is my normal attire unless the temps dip below 35 F. Fat pandas like it cool.

Just finished a nice light dinner and a few pints with our Scottish brethren. It has begun.

From what I have been told, the Hyatt is flat booked unless you happen to catch them during a cancellation. Our room block reservations expired on 5/21 so I do not even know what rate you can get. Also told that is the same story for almost every hotel in and around Chicago (at least the ones that book rooms by the day and not hour). There is some huge medical convention downtown that has been sucking up all the overflow.

The way I look at is that I no longer need to spend the premium bucks on a laptop. I can certainly set up a much more powerful desktop to run MATLAB and SAS and then use my iPad to remote into it from just about anywhere. I can also do that for as many machines as I want. That is slightly different approach to mobile computing, but one that I have found particularly liberating.

Looks like the chest x-rays were clear so the antibiotics are to make sure it doesn't progress to walking pneumonia.

Just finished having a chest x-Ray. Now waiting for an antibiotic prescription. Joy.

No educational discounts either, but our bookstore has all the wi-fi models in stock.

No need for a calibrated display. I do some scientific image capture but absolute color calibration is not necessary. Basically I can get a nice Mac Pro and if I go with a lesser monitor I can more easily justify a dual display system and some bigger HDs, etc.

Question for the Mac gurus. First, what is your best guess for a Mac Pro refresh? Second, is the 24" Apple display actually worth $799?
