    Happy Birthday, Chris!
  7. Yep, that is why I went with the 16 Gb memory. My experience with Apple computers when bought new is that the first memory upgrade is price competitive but maxed memory is not. I am sure there are exceptions. Plus I hate wasting my drinking time having to sell shit.
  8. I am currently running my former 16Gb iMac with an additional 16Gb of Crucial Ram. It works the same as before the upgrade, well except for the fact that my R code runs faster. It is the latest non retina version with an i7 and the NVIDIA 775M.
  9. in my experience that is an urban myth, but I always use Crucial for my upgrades. Not always the cheapest, but has always worked for me.
  10. Replaced the nonfunctional HD in our 20" imac with an SSD. Now installing the OS, just happy there were no parts left over after I put it all back together.
  11. You're getting the 27" correct? In that case I would go with the 16Gb as two 8gb sticks. Then when you go to 32gb (because you know you will) you just need to get two more 8Gb sticks. I would also go with the i7 because Head-Case.
  12. Do people still use Windows computers? How quaint.
  13. I wasn't commenting on which looks better just that I like the look of that one as I am a big fan of Wenge.
  14. I assume you like fried eggs and beer then?
  15. Shelly, The only way for you to have been exposed to rabies is if the cat was rabid and you had been exposed to their saliva. Even if the cat was rabid and introduced saliva into a wound of the dog the dog would not be infectious until the virus reached the brain/salivary tissue which takes days to weeks. As Reks said you should talk to your doctor if you have any concern but waiting until you return home is not likely to be any great risk.
  16. Exactly! Which is why you buy one now and another when they upgrade to TB2.
  17. Unless I had an 8 SSD storage array I'm not convinced I would be able to notice the difference between thunderbolt 1 or 2.
  18. Same as above. You could also use one of these http://www.caldigit.com/thunderboltstation
  19. Well that does suck. R.I.P. Tom.
  20. Ooo we're a feisty little troll tonight. And just for future reference, " No you are!" Is not a clever retort.
  21. Well if you had looked in the first Google result it says 3 hours. Also, quit being a cunt.
  22. What did the TV do?
  23. Technically, the primary food of baleen whales is krill, but plankton feeds the teeny-weeny fishies.
