Boer & Brit, "The Field Marshall". Blend of Tinta Amarela, Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache and Carignan. OK wine, fun marketing blurb. The wine makers are, respectively, the great-great-grandsons of President Paul Kruger (the main Afrikaner political leader of the Second Boer War) and Field Marshall John Denton Pinkstone French (one of the top British commanders during the conflict). Bygones and all that.

Yeah SABMiller, currently trying to buy Fosters in order to add even more shitty beers to their portfolio. The Urquell we get here is crap. Damn that looks good, Al! Me miss good pizza long time. I am having a Duvel to console myself. Recently met a Belgian beer importer and we're establishing a (strictly professional) relationship.

Day trip to the Stellenbosch winelands with the kids. They got to pet a cheetah and feed tame barn owls. We got to eat a very nice lunch and pick up a trunkful of good juice. And, apparently, the pot of gold really is right outside the winery door.

In a dyspeptic mood, so very much enjoyed this.
