We've had two dour, defensive managers in a row with Mourinho and Conte -- so someone like Sarri who wants high energy pressing and fast and vertical ball movement, while allowing flair players like Hazard to use their gifts, is a breath of fresh air at the Bridge. We're playing Liverpool twice in a week at the end of the month and that will probably be the end of the honeymoon.

I love every single thing about this goal. The great pass to break the lines from Rudiger, telepathic dummy from Hazard, one-touch return from Giroud, the little body feint from Hazard that fakes the Cardiff defender out of the 50-50 ball and then a glorious finish past arguably the most in-form keeper in the league. Stuck in a bit of a feedback loop.

Ha! I forgot to post this before, too, a curiosity. My great-grandfather's Baume Brothers watch. Plated, nothing special, well before the union with Mercier in 1918 -- I would guess late 19th Century based on his age and life story. Went to my grandfather, who reputedly wore it daily, then my Dad, who left it in a drawer since the '60s. Dial is in rough shape as you see, but I had the movement repaired and put a new strap on. It runs OK and my wife now wears it occasionally, for it is teeny tiny by modern standards, maybe 31 - 32 mm. I like having it anyway, feels like a (literal) time capsule from the ancestors!

But, when you get down to just one watch and wear it every day -- dings and schmutz happen. Think I'm going to start building up a rotation again.
