  1. If it's a true loop out it would be non-volume dependent, i.e. muting the speakers would be as easy as turning down the integrated. If it's a preamp output you're semi-screwed. Of course you could also just split the output of your source (less than ideal) or get a switch box but I swear we've been down this road before with your speaker rig and that you had a switch box already?
  2. Haj, If you don't have one already I'd highly recommend a Harmony remote for ease of use and WAF. My wife was pissed for about 10 minutes when I told her I bought a $100 remote, then I set it up and showed her that she could turn the whole business on and off with one button and that frown turned upside down. And given that you're in "compromise" mode why not build a decent HT rig while you're at it? Face it, if you got booted from your listening room odds are you won't often be able to turn the living room into what that room was. You've just stumbled upon reason #1 to have a headphone rig even though speakers are moar better.
  3. I tend to use too much solder, almost as a rule. My thinking is that it doesn't hurt and allows me to make sure that I'm getting enough wicking.
  4. I was kidding.
  5. Colin, Let's talk. Maybe I'll bring mine down to the NYC meet and you can borrow it and see how you like it?
  6. You stay the hell away from mah QUADs!!1 And if you wanted even more compact you wouldn't have to get the monoblocks. One of the 2ch amps would probably do nicely too.
  7. AudiogoN ForSale: Monarchy SM-70 That one isn't even that far from you Stretch.
  8. Check and make sure that there aren't any hair's touching the driver or any other sort of debris.
  9. Seriously Stretch, I think a key to this is to get the amp off the desk.
  10. Too bad it's already sold*. *not to Stretch
  11. The ECD manual I've seen matches what The Monkey reported. http://electrocompaniet.no/pdf/manualer/ECD1_V1.pdf

    Fluke 179?

    Suck it, bitches. 48hrs.
  13. How would it take more than a day to clear up an account # error?
  14. It's in the docs somewhere, I've seen it before too.

    Fluke 179?

Nah, I've been doing too much buying lately and need to step back.

    Fluke 179?

The seller also has a similarly priced LCR meter that has me intrigued.
  17. Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Once More, With Feeling Not the album, but a recording of the actual episode.
  18. We can fix that easy enough.
  19. This is a situation where tabbed browsers are great. Simply open each image in a separate tab and you can fly through them or directly compare samples very quickly. The second and third versions are rubbish, the forth pretty bad too IMO regarding color. For me it'd either be the first or fifth and I prefer the first.
  20. Upside: drink more.

    Fluke 179?

Fluke 73 III 3 Multimeter - Calibrated and Certified - eBay (item 180420065591 end time Nov-14-09 04:35:51 PST) You could make an offer on something like that. I think I paid ~$75 for the one I had years ago which I've since replaced with a 179.
  22. If you don't care about video switching this might be a good option. Outlaw Audio or maybe even the 970 would work?
  23. Early reports have the 4ch P&G pot coming in around $400 (for an order of 10) with a 5-6 week lead time.
