    Speaker Cable

Yes, I have. And while I can't make any meaningful sonic comparison I can say that I greatly prefer working with the Canare. The anti-cables need to be the exact length you need or they require annoyingly precise coiling to make them look decent and still have a tendency to resemble a spring when coiled.
  2. Dude, 25, get out the house man!
  3. I know my audience, what can I say? Singlepower build mode *on*
  4. Because of the volume of emails that I receive with large attachments for work there's no way I could leave it all on a webmail server.
  5. Indra, How long a cable do you need to go directly from the Duet to your stereo? 1m or more? I'd be willing to entertain a trade of cables for a picture (not of her you sickos, one of the images off of her site).
  6. My issue with Thunderbird is that once you start using it you can't go back to anything else. The database file that they use cannot be converted back to use Outlook again. I was going to switch back to Outlook earlier this year and discovered the transfer incompatibility.
  7. I wish they'd run lines out to my house. I so hate having no choice but comcast...

    Speaker Cable

When you say starquad do you mean the IC wire or did you use the 4S11 speaker wire which is technically also a starquad type cable. I've use cables built using 4S11 and don't find them muddy at all. But I've got a pretty pedestrian speaker rig so maybe my gear isn't resolving enough.
  9. Hmmmm... I'm not completely enamored with it. I don't like the downloads section as much and also the previous links that pop up from the address bar almost show too much information now. I'm a simpleton, what can I say?
  10. Devices like that are also really handy for when your OS shits the bed like Vista did for me last week. I was able to simply pull the HD from my laptop, plug it into the external USB adapter that I have (thanks to tkam for pointing me to those a long ways back) and recover all of the data from the drive. It would have been a very bad day if I didn't have that adapter...
  11. Heh, I hope to get back to building a little in the not too distant future but my retirement status will probably stay in place permanently. Gone are the days when I could sit down stairs for 4hrs at a time and solder away while listening to tunes.

    Speaker Cable

Jesus... $100/ft for some fugly cables. In exotic speaker cable news I believe that I'll be making a set using Neotech's NES-3004 wire some time soon.
  13. Given how limited my building will be for the next year(s) I was merely suggesting that it might be a good idea.
  14. Naw, J still funny.
  15. Is it any wonder, given the exceptional moderation team around here?
  16. I'm beginning to think that it'd be a very good idea to develop a small pcb that allowed for 3 position gain switch using voltage dividers for amps like this.
  17. I think in the world of ultra-high resolution displays that a little extra size on a commonly used button probably isn't a bad thing. I don't find it intrusive, just obvious. Anyone know if this most recent version supports anything like gestures?
  18. Alright, fine, fine, you bunch of fanboys, I'll download it today.
  19. I'm watching Lily sleep in her car seat, where she's been for the last half hour. It is, in a word, glorious. It's pretty much the first time in four days that someone hasn't been holding her. In other news, I've been watching a bunch of movies lately while staying up nights with the little one: V for Vendetta, Ocean's 13, Goldfinger, and others I've already forgotten due to a lack of sleep.
  20. I'd wait for tkam's review of the latest northstar, i think that was ~$1500.
  21. Any new or interesting changes?
  22. By midnight last night I was feeling a bit better but still decided to take today off to try and make sure that I don't get really sick. Felt pretty awesome to log ~8hrs of sleep last night, that's for sure. Also, I discovered today that Autocad 2007 is not Vista compatible, so trying to do work from home is proving rather fruitless.
  23. I asked Pete about this and from what I recall it can, but isn't ideally setup to drive speakers.
  24. Sweet Jack!!! Minute by minute impressions or BAN!
  25. I hope it only takes that long. I can say that's she really developing her voice after just 220hrs, a little harsh in the highs at times but occassionally has a really great quiet background. I'd expect nothing less from you, nothing less.
