Thanks for the sympathy. My issue is the well built/serviced part. Unfortunately I have not listened to them much since I got them back the second time but I thought they were quiet (as posted previously) but I think my excitement blinded me. I then went on to my DAC comparison which I had to do using my dynamics because I don't have a balanced ES amp (yet). When they aren't on my head these phones sit in a plastic bag in a closed drawer so there is no new dust or anything. They came from the "repair" this way which is just ridiculous. I know there are lots of people that would say I'm obsessing over something very quiet and a lot of people probably wouldn't even hear it but I don't care. If I pay the kind of money these headphones cost I would expect them to come from the factory Dead Quiet.

Same here but only in one driver, it's still there on the e/90 but very reduced. Also the left right balance thing on the E/90 is weird to get used to. Do the O2 ever buzz/squeal? I'm tired of this shit.

Well the left channel is buzzing now, more with Stax SRM and less with the E/90 but with both (barely audbile with the E/90). It's something to do with the bias voltage because it buzzes even after being detached from the amps. One would think the E/90's higher bias would cause more buzzing but who knows. I opened the driver up and took a look and nothing is obvious (though it may be in backwards since to line up with cable entry the wire needed to be flipped). I guess I will be sending these to Koss for repair yet again. Which will probably take 2 trips because they will say there is no buzz with the E/90 because they're deaf (as shown by the last fiasco). Which means I will be without a pair of headphones when my KGSS arrives. Fuck these headphones. :mad:

some Mogami TRS-XLR connectors to use the 2nd DAC in my DEQ to go to my Linn Classik for my speakers.

OK my real list: KGSS+ESP950/O2/Jade BHSE+ESP950/O2/Jade Woo+ESP950/O2/Jade Everything dynamic + Qualias BUDA+HD800s GS-X + HD800s Smyth Research Device even if I will likely never buy one since I would rather pay way more for a 8 channel AD/DA and do it myself. Is anyone going to be running Foobar 2K? I'm thinking of bringing along my convolutions and the convolution plug-in on a memory stick. I figure there will be lots of HD650s around. (Smyth may not like this much, oh well).

I'm going to sit in the corner and mutter to myself.

hear=measure same thing. I've now got a way to measure the ability of DACs to actually play entire musical pieces. It's pretty neat. I need a better ADC but I am not going to buy one.

Smalls. I've worn this pair before several times. They are set to max and fit perfectly. The seal is great.

Actually my wife and I talked about that and while we are cutting back a bit we are trying to make a point to spend at small businesses. I want to buy a Ford even but after this headphone fiasco I don't think that will happen for a long while.

Yeah I keep dreaming but in the end my cube isn't suitable for a "good" office rig. Open phones would just piss people off. Also my Creative ZVM->AE-2-> Ety ER-4s is really almost as good as my home rig and plenty good for work. Maybe sometime in the future I'll get an office but I don't see that for a long time.

I have just bought Qualias, 75% of a KGSS and now the HD800s. At least I'm not going to get that DAC. I just added up what I've agreed too and man that's a lot of money.

Yeah that would be sweet but a little overkill. I'm just thinking of a fairly nice looking case I can leave next to my setup to store my Qualias in so that my cat doesn't feel the need to knock them off their stand. I may get one for the HD800s too. I need to keep these heaphones as prestine as I can since I will likely sell one of the two after the showdown. I'll leave the 650s out and about though since they seem fairly indestructible,

I guess I'll hold off until I get the headphones in my hands so I can size it correctly. Thanks for the Markertek heads up.

Or they are cutting their losses.... I'm not sure where KG got that info about the DACs but it's extremely rare for companies to share their R&D budgets and/or for the engineers to know what they are.

Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting a flight case to protect my Qualias and I was thinking the Pelican 1200 looked like a great case or some other pelican. They are a lot more reasonable than I thought. Any ideas?
