  1. Hopstretch we talked about this and it sounded better the next day right? I think it did. I'm not sure what was wrong but it appeared to be fixed the next day.
  2. Ok well I think I will be sticking with my DAC now. Methinks that I will be investing in the hhb player that was in Headroom's room at CJ: HHB UDP89 | Sweetwater.com It does downsampled SACD out the AES/ABU at up to 16/88.2 which is sweet: HHB UK | UDP-89 I'm looking on page 40 of the manual but page 33 contradicts.... dunno. Tempted to email the manufacturer. Fucking Sony and their restrictions.
  3. Congrats on the engagement Worked. ranted. worked some more. Then took a nice hour long bike ride
  4. Yup The pizza was great
  5. Lets hope mine ship out today They should
  6. I would have to agree. Sony isn't some small company if you can prove what they claim is false then sue the crap out of them. I'm sure you can find someone to take it to class action.
  7. Hopstretch, thanks for the white paper. Very interesting. I'm not sure I buy the superiority of the multi-level but it looks like you end up with about 6 bits running at very high speeds. Essentially a hybrid between a classic multi-bit and the delta-sigma/DSD dacs. The use of bits at random is similar to what dCS does with the ring dac too. Certainly isn't "pure DSD" though. Hmmmm I may need to buy one of these.
  8. Awesome.... so much for 25 million developing anything.... Still sounds good though.
  9. I think they may all be custom actually but I don't know for sure. edit: wrong!!!!
  10. Lucky bastard.... Headroom ship those damn phones
  11. I loved them. Absolutely clean. The waterfall plots they were showing were downright amazing. No pictures of the driver since they haven't filed the patent yet etc and they need to get some ducks in a row. Very cool. If I could only buy one thing from the show they would be it (yes I'd skip the 800)
  12. Back home now. Now I have to wait for the Audeze to become available and the HD800s to arrive. Luckily one will happen pretty soon but still.... Amazing meet LA crew.

  18. Cool. I look forward to hearing it.
  19. Wait....... we are supposed to bring music?
  20. I said I wouldn't get involved but I must. When properly designed all cables are the same. The test you described sounds like the old monster cable one where they took a 200ft roll 24awg wire and compared it to 200ft of 8 guage of their wire. Realistic? No. Proper use? No. In your case if the wire being used influenced the frequency response then something is wrong with the wire. If it was that simple every bloody wire manufacturer would just show their plots..... but somehow they don't.... strange:palm: That said if you claim you can hear the difference between gold vs silver vs copper for a solid core wire for the same length and AWG then you're probably hearing placebo since if there was a difference the manufacturers would again show it proudly.
