  1. No problem. I saw it earlier today. I was going to see if it remained unsold in a week or two so I have some time to rebuild cash reserve.
  2. There is another X1 for $1850 with a ps in a smaller box than the one you linked above. The price appears to be good. The question is can I swing it after buying the HP-1. No Doshi.
  3. The guy was not willing to negotiate. After looking at the blue book, the price appears high. The avg is about $1800 but the last was $1500 and low $1300. This is an older unit so the average is probably factoring sales from years earlier (release in '98).
  4. I received an email from Wyred 4 Sound that they would wire one balanced output to be a loop out. The pre is their STP.
  5. I agree, the ipad sucks.
  6. My fear with the SR-Omega is if a driver goes. I don't think I've tried the mk2, hopefully at the NYC meet.
  7. Whatever.
  8. The 4070 and 404LE > O2. I don't hate or dislike the O2, I just don't think they are as good as the 10 of you that like it.
  9. They are about 4 oz. heavier and closed but I'm getting used to them. When you have been using the PS1000, the weight of the 4070 is not a noticeable.
  10. Here are the McCormack specs: Rated power output: 150Wpc RMS into 8 ohms (21.8dBW), 300Wpc RMS into 4 ohms (21.8dBW), 500Wpc RMS into 2 ohms (21.0dBW) (bandwidth and distortion not specified). Output current: 50A peak per channel. Input impedance: 100k ohms. Input sensitivity: 1.2V. Frequency response: -3dB at 0.5Hz and 250kHz. Rise time:
  11. Here are the specs of my current preamp, which is a Berendsen Pre 1 SE: Inputs: 5 line RCA Outputs: 2 tape, 2 main RCA Record selector switch: Yes Remote-control function for volume: Yes Bandwidth (-3 dB): 1.5 Hz - 200 kHz Slew rate: 25 V/
  12. Congratulations!
  13. Progressing nicely. One more hour to go.
  14. I would have to sell more than the useless headphone gear to join my brother on the West coast. I did see that and it is sweet. I wonder if my wife would notice that the guest bathroom was not redone.

  16. You can drive a couple of hours North and see Nate and not drive much and see Stretch. Boston is a cool town but don't know it well.
  17. With the 4070's I don't have any of these problems.
  18. Smoking some pork back ribs:
  19. It's been available for 11 days so I went a little low.
  20. Thanks for the input. I would love to spend less than $2000, if possible so will look at the Aleph P as a possibility. I hadn't thought about a GSX. I would love to have a remote which would rule out the GSX, it's over my price range and I have the b22. From what I recalll, I thought the b22 was probably not the best candidate for a preamp. I made an offer on the BAT VK-5i.
  21. With the PerfectWave on the way, I now have a balanced source. My KGSS is balanced as is my McCormack DNA 1 (will be shipped for repairs Monday). I'm looking for a pre that will allow me to go balanced out to the McCormack and use a balanced loop out to the KGSS. The only one I can find in the under $2000 price range is the BAT VK-5i. Wyred 4 Sound has a preamp with 2 balanced outs. I emailed them to see if they could make one of them a loop or tape out. I know that BAT gear is supposed to be excellent so it is a possibility. I am curious if someone else knows of any other in the under $2000 range. Thanks
  22. I'm so happy I can be of assistance.
  23. Blah, blah, blah. Don't be haters.
