  1. Seriously! Way to go Dinny, how is it?
  2. Now, considering the source, there doesn't happen to be a hole in the box, does there?
  3. JP likes cooking gear? I did let him and other locals know, but it seems I am the only one with no life, so will be forced to drink the beers for them.
  4. Dojo paring and petty knife, Chicago Cutlery non-serated walnut steak knives, Serenity blu-ray, CDN DTQ450X digital cooking thermometer, and a ticket to a sour beer fest next Saturday.
  5. Hippidie burpdei moi? Wut?
  6. Looks great, nice work Steve! Agreed, needs an SR-009, and for the latter, better ask MPI, I believe that is his area of study.
  7. 4 bottles of '07 Stag's Leap Merlot and groceries.
  8. Want kgsshv heatsink case edition bad.
  9. Just boarded the plane for my flight home from Vegas. Anyone know how long it takes them to ship a BMW across the country?
  10. The only thing redeeming about the dt770 to me is the headband and pads, might make a decent fosterphone. Hated the sound though. Larry, I have never heard the darth beyers, but I had Larry's woodied hd650 for a while and they absolutely sucked! I definitely could believe the modded dt770 are worse than the original. As to why, because they look pretty/make money?
  11. Had a chimay blue and a few glasses of panther creek pinot noir, not sure what year. Both were ok, no where even near last night's Stag's Leap.
  12. 2007 stags leap merlot. Probably the best wine I have ever had.
  13. Steak. Did a ghetto-sous vide for half an hour in a big pot, then seared it for a minute each side, added a little butter and into the broiler for ~4 minutes. Sweet onions sauteed in last night's leftover hamburger grease. Mmm. Was going to have with a Kasteel Rouge, except I found it tasted like cherry cough syrup and was undrinkable, so having an Ommegang Rare Vos instead.
  14. Isn't that Hammond just a split bobbin? I don't see how that is related to a toroid at all. I would imagine the benefits would be extremely low interwinding capacitance and very low bandwidth.
  15. Burger with 2yr aged cheddar, onion focaccia. Salt and pepper rub, sear quickly both sides, add butter on top, toss in oven for 5 minutes with cheddar on top. I actually dropped a seasoning and broke the first wine glass (fortunately with only a taste of wine in it), so the heatgun made an appearance at the end to speed some stuff up like cheese melt. Eat with Terrazas de los Andes '09 Malbec. Not bad, not bad at all.
  16. Been nursing a panil bariquee for the past 3 hours or so, just about done. Decent sour, but could be more complex and really light on carbonation. Probably will not get another, it is definitely second tier for me.
  17. Rodenbach Cru. Yum.
  18. I figured I would join the above party of receiving The Unforgiving which I preordered a few weeks ago. Also, the other party here (libations, that is).
  19. Happy birthday Doug!
  20. Happy birthday Doug!
  21. Replaced the Interlude with a Rodenbach Grand Cru. Much better.
  22. Vintage bourbon 17 and rye 21 are $65 each here, bourbon 23 is $100. Been tempted a few times, but have been a good boy so far.
  23. Allagash Interlude. Meh, I don't expect to finish this.
  24. Not a huge fan of the Duchesse, just too many others of the style I would prefer to drink. Never had La Folie, or any New Belgium that I can recall. Also, anyone up for this: http://www.beermenus.com/deals/51-april-sours-at-jimmy-s-no-43
