  1. Something I refer to as the "whisk(e)y cocktail". Not telling what it is, because it would probably offend everyone here.
  2. This, and it did. Worst was probably the slush and puddles though.
  3. Who says I am not? I don't believe in amplifier monogamy.
  4. I don't pretend to be an expert at all in this, nor do I play one on TV, but wouldn't a cytochrome p450 2d6 deficiency cause one to not really respond to opiate based anesthetics?
  5. Hoboken was pretty much as Jeff's picture indicates (obviously), without the snowblown path this morning. Had some footprints to walk in, though I had to walk in the road for 4-5 blocks this morning.
  6. Blue Hawaii boards.

  8. I do like it, and it has served me well for the past year or so. I am just worried since these speakers dip down to around 3ohm. I do not have a preamp, but when I got the amp I replaced the RCA jacks and switches back there, removed the balance controls (just mono screw adjust pots on the back), and replaced them with a stepper on the front panel. I absolutely need to figure out room treatments, speaker positioning, toe in, and tilt, and all the other related stuff. I know it matters, and matters quite a lot. Unfortunately, my room is less than ideal, but I am sure I can figure out something workable. Right now they are about 2.5' from the side walls, a bit more than that from the rear (unfortunately big windows behind them), and a TV between them. It will be tricky.
  9. New speakers up and playing with the temp amp (Hafler dh120, hasn't spontaneously combusted yet). I definitely need to play with setup, and get the F5 running.
  10. Probably. DIY F5.
  11. Apogee Centaur Minors.
  12. De Dolle Oerbier Reserva 2009, WLW, a super rare flat iron steak (Montreal steak rub+ cayenne pepper), broiled swordfish steak, and mixed veggies. I have one word for y'all: mmmmmmmm.
  13. YAY Yes, at least once.
  14. I like my 7704a, fun little piece of kit. Wanted a 7904a at the time, just couldn't justify the cost. It has a handle too, makes it nice and portable.
  15. You have a fuse box? How old is your house Vicki?
  16. Rodenbach Vintage '08 on tap, MMMMMM.

    Audeze LCD-2

I need to remember to bring CDs I know next time I am going to be near the LCD2's, I have had them on my head twice and still no idea what they sound like.
  18. Beer is midis touch, steak is rare.
  19. Just for fun, same SPDIF transport (optical input to Audio Alchemy DTI v2.0, BNC out), same 75ohm BNC 'T' adapter with the middle leg into my Tek 7704a with 7a16a module, and same Blue Jeans BNC cable output into a 75ohm BNC terminator. The variable here is the cable from the DTI to the 'T', first case is another BJC BNC-BNC. Second is a standard RCA cable, I think it was an AR brand one, with RCA-BNC adapters on both ends. Did this quite a while ago, can't remember for sure but something is telling me the time scale might have been showing up wrong on the screen. Regardless, it was the same for both tests.
  20. I don't play games either, which is why I went for the 4550. Plus, it is passively cooled, which is nice. Just bought some airplane tickets.
  21. I did hear these, and when I was listening, did not know which was which. I 0.thought maybe I slightly preferred the one with the ASRC, felt it was just a bit smoother. It was the kind of thing where I wasn't sure if I was really hearing the difference or what, but they were VERY close either way. Liked both though, real nice sounding DACs.
  22. WTF. I didn't realize playing the violin was a full contact venture. How do you break your collarbone and wrist? Got promoted today.
  23. JH13/16.
  24. Is Diet Mt. Dew on the Anvil list? If so, I just destroyed said list.
