In an attack of flavor-of-the-monthity I've just paid an order of a pair of ATH ESW10 from KuboTen. I hope they're as good as Vicki said With them, some spare earpads for R10 and CD3000 before they get discontinued, and the carry bag for the woodies.

I have serious doubts to try the highest Staxes at their second hand prices, how this guy thinks people can get interested for DIYer level electrostats at that price? I'm sure he'll get many orders anyway. It just will show how a well fueled audio machinery works :palm::palm:

Thanks for all the comments Vicki, I think I get the picture quite well. I could live with the ESW10 for the purpose I'd want them. Now the big question, wouldn't I be better served with other portable cans at that price? Still the price thing hanging around

Are they really that good, Vicki? Somewhat we seem to share some taste, judgment and gear, so I take your opinions with interest nonetheless. I could use some portable "big" cans which provide some isolation, but not as much as IEMs, to use them on my on-call duties. I need to be able to hear the pager when it beeps, and also that the DAP can drive them without an amp. Of course good sound quality is important, otherwise I would be looking at some mid-range Grados or eventually the Portapros or PX-100. Are the ESW10 what I'm looking for? These things aren't cheap

Thanks Deepak. I found the code, but I don't have the slightest idea on what to do with it I added it after the URL replacing the * and as expected, it didn't work at all. I suppose I should get into HF and pasting the code somewhere into Tools or properties, but my ignorance about html and browsers doesn't help much.

Just to make sure, I've gone there now and definitely the Qables view won't work for me either on Firefox nor on IE7. It automatically leaves me on the default view with the damn left column ads Maybe it's just working for the Supremus or any other requirement should be met that I miss. I remember that by May or June the contributors could get rid of the left column ads. Then, by July or maybe August, the lower window with several sponsors appeared, and choosing among two of them, you could get rid of the ads. That lasted only a month or so, and you didn't need to be contributor to enjoy the feature. For some weeks there wasn't any chance to get alternate "clean" views until the Qables thing which appeared about 10 or 15 days ago. I've been trying hard to make it work, but it won't for me. Suggestions??? hehehehe

About a couple of months ago they had more "sponsored views" and you didn't need to be a contributor to have the ads removed. Now the Quables thing doesn't remove the left column ads for me. I'm not a contributor...

LOL Those HP-2 are kind of a love-hate thing. They don't impress, in fact don't seem to do anything specially right, nor to make music wonderfully interesting, but have that sort of balance that once you have experienced it, you may miss it sometimes. I don't think I'll be selling my pair unless I needed the money badly, despite their not getting much play lately. I've purchased today a pair of Timberland shoes Very comfy, I have to choose my shoes very carefully for having my left Achilles tendon operated. The skin over it is very delicate and thin. These seem to fit the bill.

I bet aobadragon is the same fellow who was banned at Head-fi for using multiple nicks and used to buy cheap from members to sell for a profit. He's been trying to sell several Grados at Audiogon and other places.

Wouldn't those caps be redundant if the amplifier after the iMod/dock isn't DC coupled? Forgive my ignorance please.
