Ron at Liquid HiFi is offering me a killer price on the PWD that is good through the end of the month, so I may have to make a decision sooner (unless I buy Tyrion's if the warranty is transferable). I appreciate any advice you can offer. Can you basically tell me if it's worth trying to buy one in the $1900-$2150 price range? I read elsewhere that the jump from stock Digital Link III to Cullen Stage IV is bigger than the jump from Stage IV to PWD (by someone who is selling his DLIII stg IV and keeping PWD). I have to decide if I will sell the DLIII and get PWD, or just mod the DLIII which will cost me half as much out of pocket as the the PWD deal in the end.

Hi Monkey, I would love to read more of your impressions on the Perfectwave DAC if you are willing. Thanks.

The JH13Pro sound fantastic with the Woo WA6, and the volume control is very precise at very low volumes, with no imbalance as you approach zero. I had the TTVJ portable Millett Hybrid amp but it's almost too noisy for very sensitive IEM, and the volume knob has channel imbalance until the knob is at 9 o'clock, and that is too loud to go to sleep listening.

Well, for me I prefer my HE60 on the WES over the Jade, as the WES finally gives the HE60 some balls. When I want something fuller and more lush with even stronger bass I go for the O2 Mk1. In the bedroom rig, I tend to grab the Jade before the Lambdas or Smegma Pro.

That's kinda cool, following for now.

We were sad here too. My 12 year old son and I enjoy watching TV together, and that was one of his favorite shows. I assume the blood thinners from the Pulmonary Embolism put him at risk for the stroke (if it was a brain bleed and not a clot).

I'm starting to wonder if Naamanf and I have the only really nice sounding Jade out there or something. I own Naamanf's O2 Mk1 because he liked the Jade more (although his K1000 on his B22 were even better). Our Jades are both very similar to the O2 Mk2 with ear pad spring mod - more mids and treble than Mk1, with same midbass hump, although with a wider but less deep soundstage than the O2 Mk2. I prefer the deeper soundstage of the O2 Mk1 myself. Nevertheless, I really want to get a Stax cable installed on them, and maybe someday I'd re-house the drivers if the headband or forks fail.

That was great how the two videos came together like that. I can't imagine how much work that stop motion animation took to make either.

Very good suggestions. Pandora"s Star/Judas Unchained work really well on their own as a 2 book series, and the Void Trilogy takes place hundreds of years later with the 3rd and final book still due August 2010. I liked the author enough to read his older Nights Dawn Trilogy" after the above, which isn't bad but not quite as good and actually just slightly weird but fun to read anyway. Another suggestion is Larry Niven and Ed Lerner "Destroyer of Worlds", and the 2 books preceding it "Fleet of Worlds" and "Juggler of Worlds", which weren't as good but should be read in order I suppose (although Destroyer seemed to work well on it's own). And there a whole bunch of shorter Known Space novels that Dusty mentioned by Niven, which precede these latest 3.

The app Print n Share for Advanced printing is a partial solution to printing with touch/iphone, using the computer on your wifi network as a print server.

Was it the movie "Yes Man" where the guy and the girl (Jim Carey, Zooey Deschanel) get suited up in those skate-suits and went rocketing down hill at the end of the movie?

Free VNC lite works well controlling a Mac from iPhone, so I imagine the Pro version with iPad would be a lot better than what I am using now.

I'm wondering how long ago it was that Apple started allowing syncing photos with one computer but music with another? I have been syncing a 4GB Nano to my Macbook for a while, but the other day I plugged it into the iMac to put music on it for my daughter to use, and iTunes on iMac gave me the option to keep the photos from my Macbook on the Nano. So, that made me wonder - what if you set iTunes sync for manual syncing and you drag music and videos over to the iPod (iPad) with one computer, and then plug into another computer - can you drag over more music and videos onto the device or does it want to know if you want to sync with the new computer? I'll have to try this later, or do a search, or both. There is one work around I have used for putting music or video on the iPhone or Touch that is on a different computer than the one I am sync'd with - I use Air Sharing Pro. With Air Sharing I can mount the iPhone as a flash drive on any of our Macs, and then to copy the files over to the iPhone. On the iPhone I can launch the app and play the music or videos, although only one at a time and not in iTunes. On a different note, I'm happy to see the lower price points and not being forced into needing 3G data account. I do think people should be able to tether it to the internet over BT (or USB/WiFi) to a normal cell phone and iPhone, but I'm pretty sure because of the $29 3G option they will block using another 3G connection, except for the WiFi routers that cost 2x as much for data. That was great! I almost woke up my wife from my laughing after the second one.

Yeah, I figured that out. I don't know why I posted any of that. Sorry.

That must be some of that constructive critisizm that I've been hearing about here.

Well, that wasn't quite the point I was making. I was suggesting that Asr might enjoy the K1000 with the WA22 that he already owns, and might take his time looking for a B22. I wasn't suggesting that some B22 wouldn't be good with most K1000. I didn't get to spend enough time at RMAF with his WA22/K1000, but I heard enough to know it was much better with K1000 than the 12AU7 based WA22 prototype had been with them.

Would you agree that it helps to list what you used to listen to a headphone, because it will sound different with different gear? How else can I share my impressions of the HE-5 with different gear, if I can't list the gear? If I wanted to show off my gear it would be listed in my sig line here and on other forums, so it's not about that. And somehow I managed to leave Bluto out of the above comparisons, but it might have become Naamanfisms if he had not moved to Kansas.

I don't want to buy 3G wireless on an Apple tablet. We have a Verizon MiFi 2200 wifi EVDO broadband connection for our 2 iPhones and several Macbooks, and I would use WiFi to connect the tablet to internet. We actually use Verizon for our family plan because reception is better, and I only wanted the iPhone for music, games and surfing. I previously used a Verizon Win mobile PDA phone and an iPod Touch; but I canceled the PDA data plan and got a VZW flip phone + iPhone instead. The plan all along has been to ditch the ATT iPhone and get one on VZW as soon as they have them. The tablet may not do it for me, as it would be too big to replace the iPhone as my daily iPod, although it could replace the nook my wife gave me for Xmas. But I definitely don't need a $1000 tablet. A $600 tablet might convince me to switch from iPhone 3GS > Tablet + 5G Nano, but not if I have to pay for 3G tablet data plan on top of our MiFi data plan. My wife and kids would be very unhappy with me if they couldn't use the MiFi when we travel. The other iPhone is for my wife's work instead of blackberry, so that would likely stay.
