I suspect by the amount of work done on it that it was in a pretty good wreck at some point. That's usually why you see painted Deloreans. Just watched a tech program on the History Channel tonight that covered the saga of the Delorean. Someone in Texas bought a majority of the plant in Ireland and is making new Deloreans. If I was going to get one I'd spend the extra money for a new one. From the footage and what I remember it's pretty damn cramped in the engine bay. I remember when these came out.
