After I redesigned the boards, one of my Winter Texan buddies had a nice template set made for me from 3/8" aluminum. So I now can cut my boards close to size, then use the router template to finish them up, so they're all exactly the same. Then the template for drilling the holes the same.

The set in the pic is White Oak with a Purple Heart inlay. I just buy cribbage pegs online, in different colors.

I have seen that one before. The individual boards make more sense to me, as you can adjust for the number of players. And it's easier to store. I had a custom leather bag made to hold my set. And my Mom's old set fits in there perfect, as all my boards are the exact same size.

Al's Sister wants my own previous set. She probably wants to practice to be able to beat me!

Super cool! Yeah it’s all about the 8’s and 9’s (well and the Jokers).

Yeah. The nines confuse people for a while. Not sure why, seems simple enough to me. I try to rarely move forward.

So I am trying to figure out if this wheel:

will fit on this angle grinder:

But I don’t have the angle grinder with me, it’s 4.5” vs the 4” diamond blade and I am not sure if the removable arbors can be put back on.. most 4-1/2” seem to be 7/8” anyways so I am probably fine.. 

any ideas?

I have about a foot of 1-2” thick Texas limestone (Lauder) need to trim off on my footpath and don’t want to buy another blade  this one might be too small but I am going to give it a shot and see if I can just chisel the rest off..

It should fit fine. The Metabo is the new name for Hitachi, and I know that the older Hitachi grinders used the standard wheels.

 

 

I believe that you can even use the newer Xlock wheels, but can't use regular wheels on a Xlock grinder. I have both kinds, and love the quick change of the Xlock system.

I would recommend well placed C4 charges, safer all around and far more interesting.  🙂

I recently had an occasion to use my clamp as a spreader. Worked great but I am now not able to get the bar back in the head. I have tried moving around these oblong disks inside with a knife but they won’t budge. Has anyone fixed their clamp or should I just see how the Bessey warrantee works..

I don’t think I know what that is. I suppose I can buy a smaller clamp and just pull the mechanism off of it. I need something that be both a spreader and a clamper. These are quite old - we used them on the corner horns. I filled the warrantee with Bessey just now, we will see what they do.

Bessey makes clamps that do both and I have one or two of these 

They will probably honor it. 

C4 is an explosive clay. Jeff uses it on most of his projects. 😝

It fit! Thanks! I opted to not test it out .. but ready when I feel up to it.

I submitted the warrantee form as well. I am not in a huge hurry but come Jan if I haven’t heard back, I think I will just order the EZS in a smaller capacity and move it into the larger bar.. that seems easy enough.

Those with the Hammer A3, did you get the jointer in feed table, and if so, do you like it? Local guy thinking of getting one and was curious. 

I didn't. I thought it would be necessary, but so far I have not needed it. I've been comfortable without it working on lengths up to around 60"

I think there is plenty of room on the jointer without any extension. It would be pretty darn long too. I do have an extension table for the planer outfeed and I believe it is a good idea. More stable and I really never get any snipe.

I had the planer outfeed only at first buy did add the jointer infeed extension later. I like it and it has been a good thing. I'm a little distracted these days...

I didn't want to correct you, because I'm doing well to remember to walk out of the house clothed these days, but thought I remembered you having them.

Transferred my FFL so that I can start engraving pew-pews and got the Fiber laser set up for testing.
