February 18, 200917 yr nope Thanks for joining Head-Case. I'm glad you're here. That said, you should be aware that this isn't your typical internet forum. We're not here so that you'll have another place to sell your stuff. We're not looking for people trying to pad their post counts, or demonstrate their ability to find witty things on the internet. This is predominantly a place for friends to discuss music, audio gear, and whatever else tickles our fancy. We are sometimes quite rude, often irreverant, and regularly abusive. Think of it like the corner bar where everyone knows each other. Don't mistake our familiarity with each other as familiarity with you, even if you've seen our names in other locations before. Spend some time reading before you start to post. Get familiar with what is going on, and who the various people are. Don't just jump right into the fray. This is your only warning, but I hope you can participate. There's a lot of good information, and more importantly, good people here. Edited February 18, 200917 yr by grawk
February 18, 200917 yr I haven't been to woot since the last woot off, the new website colors/layout feels weird...
February 18, 200917 yr I have never bought from woot.com. WTF is a "woot off?" ...nothing that Google couldn't answer or anything Woot - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (scroll down to woot off)
February 18, 200917 yr Author It just means instead of having one item a day, they have smaller quantities of multiple items, so they put the next one up as soon as one sells out. It garners interest (last time I really regretted spending as much time as I could on the site -- ended up buying a camera and a keyboard that I didn't need).
February 19, 200917 yr Drobo @ NewEgg Another device I have to refrain from buying everytime a deal comes up
February 19, 200917 yr I've debated getting a second one at the original $500 price, to keep offsite at work. This is just too much temptation
February 20, 200917 yr Just bought a pair of these (Altec Lansing UHP306): Altec Lansing Upgrader UHP306 Stereo Earphone - UHP306 - Buy.com
February 20, 200917 yr Just bought a pair of these (Altec Lansing UHP306): Altec Lansing Upgrader UHP306 Stereo Earphone - UHP306 - Buy.com Do you know if they're any good or are you just figuring that at 80% off you'll try whatever? I ask, because I'm tempted.... could be a good gift for someone I know.
February 20, 200917 yr Do you know if they're any good or are you just figuring that at 80% off you'll try whatever? I ask, because I'm tempted.... could be a good gift for someone I know. Considering AL doesn't make their own buds, those look a lot like UE metro.fi's. I bet they wont be complete crap, but beyond that
February 20, 200917 yr Do you know if they're any good or are you just figuring that at 80% off you'll try whatever? I ask, because I'm tempted.... could be a good gift for someone I know. The latter...I've tried looking for some reviews but other than a handful on Amazon, there's not much to go on. Edit: And looks like it's sold out now.
February 20, 200917 yr As a consolation deal, here's some Nong Shim noodles on sale on Amazon: Nong Shim Shin Noodle Ramyun, Gourmet Spicy Picante, 4.2-Ounce Packages (Pack of 20): Amazon.com: Grocery Nong Shim Neoguri Spicy Seafood Noodle Ramyun, 4.2-Ounce Packages (Pack of 20): Amazon.com: Grocery I prefer the Neoguri myself.
February 24, 200917 yr Author Hitachi 1TB for US$90 to go with your recently acquired Drobo or ThermalTake BlacX Edited February 24, 200917 yr by Dusty Chalk
February 24, 200917 yr Similar deal. Except drive manufacturer = pot luck. $89 + free shipping. Drive comes with a rubber shell thing, that you take off if using drive internally/in a case. You use the shell as a case, I guess. I've not encountered one before.
February 24, 200917 yr "Cavalry Storage’s CASS bundles a silicone protective shell with a brand new 500GB hard drive. This affordable solution offers customers great versatility. Easily remove the silicone shell to use the bare drive internally or use the shell as a protective case to house and store your bare drives! For users who purchase multiple units, they are stackable for easy and attractive storage." Good deal on the HDD though.
February 24, 200917 yr Author My friend's Hitachi 1TB just died in under 6 months. But at least it's not a Seagate.
February 24, 200917 yr Amazon.com: Firefly - The Complete Series: Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk, Morena Baccarin, Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite, Sean Maher, Summer Glau, Ron Glass, Joss Whedon, Tim Minear, Vern Gillum: Movies & TV Saw this on lifehacker
February 24, 200917 yr That's great for anyone who's managed to avoid watching the series thusfar. For the rest of us...
February 24, 200917 yr No, that's not what I was implying at all. Serenity is a wonderful series, tragically cut short by idiot Fox executives. Just as one is really getting into the series, the last disk ends.
February 24, 200917 yr Man, I wish the Blu-Ray version was the one on sale as well, though I've been told that it's not worth the extra cost compared to the DVD release.
