December 4, 201213 yr Wonder if the next iteration of the power supply will have these babies on board for the power supply.. http://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/discretes-and-standard-products/diodes/silicon-carbide-schottky-diodes/channel.html?channel=ff80808112ab681d0112ab6a50b304a0
December 5, 201213 yr I just wondered, has anyone got PCBs left or will there be another group buy? Thanks.
December 5, 201213 yr I just wondered, has anyone got PCBs left or will there be another group buy? Thanks. Unless I'm mistaken or something has changed there'll be a group buy when the new PSU board is finished. Any news on how that's coming along?
December 10, 201213 yr Could some of of you tell me how to mount a led push power button and how to provide 12 V for the led ? Where is it possible to find nice knobs (aluminium or wood :ebony, other) ? Thanks
December 10, 201213 yr Assuming you are running the LED at 20mA you can just feed the 12VDC off the +15VDC line through a 150ohm resistor.
December 12, 201213 yr Spritzer, just a question : where do you find your led push power button ? thanks
December 12, 201213 yr I got them from here but I just ordered a large lot directly from the manufacturer in China.
December 13, 201213 yr We are all looking for a choice of decent knobs,I was put on to this Hong-Kong based supplier of a range of items, very helpfully by workstarr, which many may already know.http://www.vt4c.com/shop/program/main.php?cat_id=6&group_id=2also quite local to me is Hi-Fi collective ( never cheap but do have a few useful bits)http://www.hificollective.co.uk/components/knobs.htmlof course RS, CPC and Farnell have knobs and sell in EU.

December 24, 201213 yr Well, the power supply for my second KGSShv powered up without a hitch : -15,+15, -504, +504 I am using the IXYS parts. Edited December 24, 201213 yr by eggil
December 24, 201213 yr Nice work and pictures Enrique. The 580v bias measures ok as well? Edited December 24, 201213 yr by Victor Chew
December 24, 201213 yr Very nice indeed, especially those Kapton. Who doesn't like the look of orange colored tape on high end audio equipments!
December 24, 201213 yr Actually, after your horror story I decided to go ahead and use it. Not pretty, but nobody is going to open the hood after is done. Victor, I was too sleepy to play with high voltage last night and stopped before measuring bias. I will tonight. EDIT: Bias measures at 580V and then slowly drifts upwards to 587 V and stays there. I figure that would not damage the stators but I am not sure. Edited December 25, 201213 yr by eggil
December 25, 201213 yr Merry Chrismas t all of you stax people. Could anyone give some advice about internal wiring : for mains (size, gauge for HV), and signal (I was thinking about Jupiter cotton copper 26 AWG cryo) ?
December 25, 201213 yr i just use 22awg all around. 16awg for heaters. Edited December 25, 201213 yr by justin
December 25, 201213 yr Same here but I've switched to shielded mic cables for input wiring in the last year. EDIT: Bias measures at 580V and then slowly drifts upwards to 587 V and stays there. I figure that would not damage the stators but I am not sure. The difference is miniscule so no damage at all.
